I've actually been guilty of a few of these. Mostly I regret sticking with EQ for almost 7 years, I missed out on other titles sticking to it. I also should have changed to a Wizard due to lack of group lovin for Necro's, but I did love the capabilities of the Necro as a solo toon. Soloing in Tactics, and PoHon just after LDoN was awsome. =]

I regret having played WoW as long as I did. It was fine in the beginning, but I invested way too much time and energy in it past the point at which it was no longer fun for me.

I regret not playing Guild Wars enough in its early days. I was too wrapped up in WoW to see how great a game it is. And now... I might be too late as GW2 is right around the "not until its ready" corner.

Well the good news is dinging 30 points in the GW2 calculator is not all that hard, but it will take a fair degree of dedication for a few months. Bad news is dinging "God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals" is nigh impossible to do quickly without the help of a mega-guild. A friend of mine has pretty much played solo and he is three titles away from GWAMM, it took him about 5 years to do it.

Well, the good news is that I'll still be able to play GW1 after GW2 comes out... and they're upping the amount of heros you can take with you into missions... but really, besides storyline, I'm not sure exactly why I would want to keep playing it with something so (hopefully) awesome as GW2 already out... but we'll see... I do like me some storyline...

I regret having done the beta for ST:O and still purchasing a lifetime membership.

I am also one of those peeps who purchased Trials of Obi-wan on 11/1/2005...and then even after they screwed me and the rest of the population of SWG I still thought Sony might care about the game.

I regret not getting the GW collectors editions, however, I do regret *getting* the FF14 collectors edition (No soundtrack?!?!? Seriously?!?!?)

@Syesta Same for me.

Also add:
Age of Conan
Champions Online
EVE Online (Bought this one on launch day -- I just can't do it after all these years)

@phobic99 Haha. I forced the monetary worth out of AoC by making as many characters as I could and replaying Levels 1-20 over and over again.

I should have kept better track of my FFXI account. I wish I could pick up where I left off (75WHM) and strive for the new level cap.

I also regret playing WoW. I went there to be with friends and had alot of fun with them, but I was also contributing to (imho) the cancer of mmo's.

And as always I regret not having more time to devote to my past-time now.

@neKr0w How was the contributing? Because you were having fun and other companies decided to try and clone it exactly? Right.

Anytime I alter my personal life for anything in a virtual world, I have regrets, even if it's only a few hours.

So I try not to allow that to happen more than twice a year.

Yes. This is why I can't/don't raid. Being held to any strict gameplaying schedule would forsake other real life activities, be they planned or happen to come up on the fly... and no game is ever better than spending time with good friends and family. We would all get together as friends during the summer, and there are a few guys that say "sorry, can't make it... have to raid tonight". And even though I understand and am a MMO player myself... I still think its the lamest excuse ever.
