In an MMO, how does the software distinguish between spoken commands and things you're saying to your teammates via voice chat?

Player 1: "one... one one... two... one... one... THREE TWO ONE ONE!!!"
Player 2: "dude, you're hitting your push to talk button again"
Player 1: "sorry!!"

@Aetrix i bet you could map whatever words you want to whatever keys you want so it would be more like

"f#ck! f#ck! f#ck! kill! kill! kill!......... F#CK! F#CK! F#CK! F#CK!"

Oh, awesome!

One day - hopefully soon, such software will be standard for all MMO titles and I cant think of a better company to become the defacto standard than NC aka Dragon.

Couldn't this also be a step in the right way for console MMOs? I realize this thingamajig is for the PC (right?) but it seems logical to me to try and adapt it to consoles.

Now instead of just claiming a sore throat to stay home and play an MMO, it will be possible to actually get a sore throat from over-playing one!

I'm impressed, I think the company should sell their software to the gaming companies so this becomes a standard. It's extremely helpful software for the disabled gamer.
