While it hasn't made quite the impact one might expect from the subject matter, The Bible Online has been soldiering along since it was first announced earlier this year. Unfortunately, the game's developers have found that the free-to-play browser-based game has a problem one would never think to be a real issue: the name isn't distinctive enough. Specifically, the name doesn't lend itself well to any sort of search engine optimization, and for a browser-based game, that's a pretty serious drawback.
As a result, a contest is being held to rename the game with a more catchy (and search-engine-friendly) sobriquet, complete with a special prize being offered to the three best entries. Although the official announcement doesn't mention what the prize will be, it will most likely be some form of special in-game item or title. If you're playing The Bible Online or just interested in the name of the game, it might be worth throwing your hat into the ring.

It's amazing the harsh criticism of the game just because it's based on something you don't believe in. There are a lot of books out there I don't believe in I wouldn't even bother making fun of or being so judgmental. And they call bible believers hypocrites!
It's amazing no matter how things change they still remain the same. For your sakes, you better hope you're right.

...Right. As cool as it is to bash the bible and complain about how much strife organized religion has caused over the years, I hardly think that this is the place to debate such a thing.
Blood on the hands of those that have used Religion as a conduit for violence, but it hardly seems fair to attack someone's spiritual beliefs for a few cheap laughs.

@DrewIW : um, the Koran? By a factor of ten or so? And what exactly do you mean by "human rights"? You mean the ones that originated with "thou shalt not kill", which were codified into the US Constitution only a little over two centuries ago? Every protection enjoyed by Westerners stems directly from the Christian values my country was founded on, a fact that anti-Christian bigots work tirelessly to erase from the history books. There have been a fair number of atrocities committed in the name of faith, but they pale next to the ones committed by atheists. And in almost every case of so-called "religious" violence, you will find the true motivations were to gain land, power or wealth - usually all three. Almost any philosophy can be perverted to produce enslavement and a disregard for human life - just look at modern liberalism, for example.

Dude, really? You really think we needed to wait till the 17th centrury before an athiest knew "Killing = bad"? C'mon, seriously?
Do you realise how retarded that sounds?

Ummm... no. Try again. athiests per se are not a "group". We simply "dont believe". Its a non stance. We only exist because you "thiests" target us historically, and since secular authourity is on the rise and seperating itself from religion now we can simply reply to you and say "No, now go away", and then you cry we are "anti-christian bigots". Thats rich lol. But if there was no religion athiests would simply be people, there would not be anything to give the word meaning. We're all, you and me just people, and there is no fairy god father, just us. Sooner you realise the better we can all get on and gocus on what we have in common, our humanity.

Yes, religion is particulary insidious however, because even after greed has been satisfied religion must constantly need bolstering with mind slavery and brainwashing. it doesn't stop with the war or other atrocity. religion is actually a very weak idea, which is why it needs threat and bribery to survive and brainwashing via repetition to survive. Its only possible because we are descended from apes and have pattern matching brains that dont always recognise false positives. But we're getting there :)

Jeez...It's hard to think of one. The Bible Online seems the best.. Maybe The Bible Online then a subtitle would help? Like The Bible Online Journey to Canaan or Egypt?
Well, anything with "Bible" in it yields millions of items...

The Bible Online is pretty high concept. On the other hand, the Bible software "Online Bible" has been around since software was carved into clay tablets, so I can see their point about search engines.
How about....
"Crucified: The Seventh Plague"
"In Search of Gomorrah"
"Assault on Canaan"
"Dungeons of the Nephilim"

Well, "Final Fantasy" is a pretty resonant name, so I'd take a leaf from that and give it the accurate and catchy name "Initial Fantasy".

What's your point? I could show you any number of intelligent people of any or no religion. All you prove by your comment is that you're incapable of logically defending yourself and your faith; rather, as in your other comment, you just say names and figures without any real justification.

Is this even available in the U.S.? I've tried to sign up but it always says it's not available in my region.
