Where's the free 2 week trial period? I thought they were ripping of EVE here, why not take that part too...

Despite you being a smartass and wanting to reply with a very rude comment, I'll tell you this: did EvE have a free trial when it was first released?

Despite YOU being a smartass and wanting to reply with a very rude comment, I'll tell you this: I'm already a subscriber, trial or not trial.

Great game.

You play this game?

Well, that makes not wanting to play it an easy decision.

I'll be waiting for a trial version. It looks ok but I think ultimately I'm probably just going to wait and see if it goes f2p. That's not to say it's not worth paying of course. I just can't pay for another game that's all.

It looks like a genuinely cool game; can anyone comment about the amount of variety between robots? From the Robopedia, it seems there is a scant selection of usable bots.

What you see on robotpedia is pretty much what's in the game. I subscribed to the game, and think it's pretty fun. Remember, that it's still pretty much in it's infancy, and has a ways to go before I'd say there's a lot of content. If all goes well, this game has a ton of potential.

Was in beta for a bit and I enjoyed it much more than my time in Eve because your basicly given a robot and do whatever you want.

Want Freaking lazerrz? Well get it!

Want Rockets? Get it!

Want to be a loser and get top notch mining gear? go for it.

And the PVP is so much more evolving than Eve as well.

@Doba

Please expand on the PvP - I'm interested in trying this game.
Just how is it more evolving?

I really haven't watched this or even heard of it.

I read one post a while back but this is the first time I've actually looked at it.

I think I'm gonna try it, since I have NO expectations or hype, and only 10 per mo rather than 15.

After playing around a bit I'm sorta liking it.
Feels a lot like Eve, but it's definitely a change of pace.
It's sorta jagged and could use a bit more polish, but that is to be expected with a new MMO.
Definitely not a bad game, and it has a lot of potential.
Though the combat and mining and all that are basically like Eve.
The mining is actually a bit worse, since it requires ammo and you have to go through all these scanners to find stuff, and there is no ore that you can actually use in the starting area.
Combat does feel faster, but it is overall the same, might be able to get into this one though, a lot more missions in a smaller area, also a lot less traveling so far.

great game, played the beta a little and have been playing non stop since early access.

Its very Eve-ish, and if you are the kind of person that would love to play Eve but hate the fact that you'll never catch up with the vets, this is a great game to get into now while its still young. I have a pretty good feeling this game is going to grow pretty steadily, its stable, the devs communicate well and are very responsive to the player base.

Psst. You're doing it wrong. It's not about "catching up".

I'm considering giving it a try... But I just finished downloading LotRO... Though every time I play LotRO, I last a week and then lose interest.

Decisions, decisions.

You know, I'm exactly the same. I like LOTRO a lot in theory, and in practice for about 6 days, then I just don't log in. It baffles me :/

@Dril I thought I was the only one. I guess thinking about playing LOTRO is more fun than actually playing it; I've never managed to get to the level cap despite numerous attempts (I've got US and EU accounts with all the addons and stuffs.) I'd resub for a month and end up quitting only a few days later. I "played" DAoC and EQII pretty much the same way.

I tried the beta didnt care for it,even tho the combat was a little faster than Eve's(which now that I think about it actually was the bots faster movement that made it seem a bit faster than Eve's) I still found the auto target auto fire run around mob til it died or you died as boring as Eve's.
And the scaling made you feel like you were playing with matchbox cars not controlling a mech or a giant robot, the stuff that looked like weeds in the game was almost as big as the bot.If the scaling was better and it made you feel like you were piloting something big like if you could have a 1st person thru the cockpit view I couldve overlooked the slow combat but alas.

@alucard3000 I agree with you on the scaling. that was actually one of my very first thoughts when I logged in. "Wow, my robot is frikin TINY!".

I read the lore on the website and it sounds like they are supposed to be nano bot type things.
