Solid. This is great news. I especially like the reduction in importance of implants. This doesn't just mean MORE PvP earlier on, it means more EFFECTIVE PvP earlier on.

The reduction is extremely marginal. Learning skill does 2% per level.

On the other hand, implants are now even more valuable as one of a smaller group of ways that you can potentially decrease training times.

I completely agree that learning skills are a pain to work with, and I'm in favor of removing them. However, I'm left wondering what's going to replace them. Currently I have 7 extra points for each attribute due to learning skills that will go away. So, my 35 attribute points are going to be replaced by 12 points? Am I missing something? Cause this is going to really tank my training times (which are already non-optimal to begin with).

Nevermind. I re-read the dev blog and found this little tidbit...

"the default character gets attributes 20/20/20/20/19 (Charisma being one point lower)"

So, an individual attribute can now be between 17 (min) and 27 (max without implants). It looks like I'll be getting a bonux 5 points to each attribute with this change (since I only had 7 points in each learning skill, and 12 will be added to each base attribute).

I guess I'll live with that. =)
