Brianna you basically confirmed that some people did take more than one beta key for themselves.

"Thanks for grabbing codes, everyone! We've double-checked and can verify that no one IP nabbed more than 2 keys. So no, there were no shenanigans."

Either way Thank you to massively for posting the offer.

Im sure that was just a typo. Who would program their website to give 2 keys per IP. Besides, i got just one. Its not weird that they were all gone so fast, because they notified us on twitter and we all rushed to the site.

Once again, ty massively :)

I'm not saying this game isn't up there as one of the most anticipated mmos to be released but 500 gone in 25 mins feels wrong. Like someone ninja'd them all. Just sayin.

Thanks very much Massively, looking forward to checking out Rift.

Some people grabbing two keys isn't really a big deal, it's not like they're going to keep them and cackle. They're going to give them to a friend/someone they live with.

if that were true it wouldnt be a big deal. but i want one so bad and cant get one and some of these people are getting several and selling them. Seems a bit crappy to me.

Actually it is a big deal because then some people take those and sell them. Do a search on google and you will see what I am talking about.

Of course some do give them to friends, but not everyone is as nice as you or I.

So should have checked this website in the morning instead of waiting until after lunch. Oh well.

The quickness these keys are going everywhere on the 'net is a good sign though. Hopefully the result of the beta testing is something that will keep the positive news flowing.

Whew, finally. I had nabbed one probably in the eighth minute or so, and I'm pretty happy. I've been following the game since it was called Heroes of Telara, but just never managed to get the Facebook/Twitter VIP keys (Twitter post made 24 seconds ago?! Too late, buddy!).

Thanks, Massively!

[Disclaimer: I'm not advertising a competing site, just telling people tht didn't get a key where they can get one.]

Thanks for the info,

I managed to get a key because of your link... much appreciated!

Also, just to let everyone know that it seems that Trion is up to their beta key shenanigans again. If you read the fine print at Curse it says:

1. Copy your beta key.
2. Create your free Trion account.
3. Enter your beta key in the field at the end of the registration process.
4. If your account is selected for the beta, you will be eligible to play during a beta weekend.

Notice point #4... no guarantee of being in beta according to the wording. I would imagine this is the same for the Massively keys.

Duulin, there are actually two different kinds of keys. The keys at Curse are for a *chance" at a beta event. Massively's VIP keys are guaranteed access to every beta event.

Thanks for the clarification. I remember the good old days when a beta key was a beta key and I had to walk ten miles to school, up hill both ways in the snow :)

@Duulin

No the Massively keys were VIP keys. Which means they provide guaranteed access to all beta events. The curse keys just increase your chance of getting into a beta event.
