Stoked. I hope the incursions have a strong impact. I hope they amount to more than just temporary distractions. I hope they are so significant that would-be enemies will consider temporary truces to address the Sansha threat.

They need to combine Star Trek Online and EVE, it would only help both titles.

(Hey! Easy with the rocks!!)

You mentioned suicide attack's in high sec in expensive fit ships. Sansha's are going to come after my 3b Tengu?? I can handle other players trying to attack... maybe not a sansha force. I am pretty sure you meant other players, but the way it is thrown into the article, sounds like the sansha's want to suicide gank me (and Concord will then blow them up for me.. ya right =)

I should have clarified that, thanks for pointing that out. I'm referring to suicide attacks by players, not sanshas. So if you're comfortable with the risk from players when using your expensive Tengu fit, you've got nothing to worry about. I still advise using a tech 2 fitting with few, if any, expensive modules, but it's up to each player to decide whether the risk of losing those modules to a player suicide attack is worth the benefit of using them.

What you aren't hearing here is the non PVP/high end Mission Runners who stick to secure space the majority of the time. If you read the dev blogs and you get caught in a system that an incursion is taking place you are trapped and whether you take part or not you are screwed.

You can't solo or tag team anything.

You can't leave the system (unless you can jump clone out)

You have to fight high end AIs with nerfed ships and fittings

If a couple of teams of players take down an objective, only one team gets credit and rewards. If everyone teams up into one big fleet only the people who delt out the most damage get credit and rewards while most of the team gets nothing.

Incursion combats will allow fleets to be ganked even in Hi Sec, so go ahead and just about kill yourself fighting the Sansha and when you win expect to be ganked for the drops.

err.... you can leave the system...you don't have to jump clone out and you also got the reward system wrong, everyone gets rewards if you are in the same fleet but if your fleet is bigger than the required amount to finish the site, you each get smaller rewards.

And also they never said anything about the sansha dropping anything in hisec. Your goal is to complete the site and get isk and Concord LP points which you can then spend on stuff in the Concord LP store. I believe I read something about concord faction stuff but I don't remember clearly now.

From Dev Blog by CCP Ytterbium:

"We brake for nobody

Incursions may happen anywhere, at any time, from null-sec alliance space to high-sec travel routes."

and as for getting out of a system:

"Active incursions will bring a variety of disruptive changes that will greatly impact player activities; first off, celestial pirate NPCs you would normally encounter at star gates and asteroid belts will be replaced by new ones tied with the incursion, and they will demonstrate updated attributes and Sleeper-like AI. Note, however, that this will not affect CONCORD, or the empire navies, even if an incursion will suppress custom NPCs."

" Jamming of cynosural fields throughout the system"

Also remember that Wormholes are how the Sansha are getting into that space so guess what you will find waiting at wormholes.

As for the rewards I misread one line and it made it look much worse than it was. I misread :

"Depending on the player numbers in the most contributing fleet. A ratio is calculated from the total number of active fleet players in the site and how many players this site is from. The closer, the better."

as

"Depending on the playerS WHO DID the most contributing TO THE fleet. A ratio is calculated from the total number of active fleet players in the site and how many players this site is from. The closer, the better."

I probably made this mistake because before I read the Dev Blog ( http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=819 ) another player suggested that to me along with other info on how bad "Incursion" was going to be for me, and by the time I made it to that point in the blog I was already fit to be tied and ready to throw something. I had been going on like a fan boy about how good this was going to be for all players in EVE and once again it favours one or two parts of the EVE community over the others.

It is like "End Game" content that is randomly forced upon new players without even the option for retreat. Jump clones, suicide runs with clones elsewhere, or playing your alt is your only option if you don't want to do high end PVP/PVE in nerfed ships.

What's to keep you from just jumping out of the system?

So there are a few NPCs at the gates, warp to 0 and jump out... From what I've seen on SiSi, the Sansha spawns at belts and gates are very minor and pose little threat.

The system-wide bounty de-buff is enough to make most PVEers simply JC or travel to another system.
