When they are able to translate that kind of intrigue into the games they make CCP will be sitting on a Scrooge McDuck pile of cash.

Agreed, the marketing materials for EVE are amazing. However, it still seems like spreadsheets in space.

CCP has been making roleplay events since may about this. Pretty cool stuff if you happen to follow the course of events. You can check the rp in-char forum to follow what is going on.

I think they need to team up with someone with major studio support like James Cameron and just make a kickass space opera film...skip the video game entirely. Honestly, their movies are just awesome.

your lore isnt correct Sansha's true slaves were convicts sentenced to a life of servitude and controlled/monitored by implants. They formed his army and it was them that caused the empires to take note.

The lore is taken directly from the official chronicle here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Sansha%27s_Nation_%28Chronicle%29

The first true slaves were experiments done on minmatar slaves provided by the Amarr, not convicts in the traditional sense.

These don't look like EVE shadows ... EVE shadows are all blocky and look like crap. Does this mean they've finally fixed the shadows?? Color me skeptical ...

Unfortunately, the trailers are not made completely in-game but using an in-house tool and significant post-processing. Then again, I don't have shadows enabled, so I wouldn't have seen if they'd updated them. :)

In reference to shadows-it could of been made in the UT III engine with the dev tools they are using for Dust 514. I have no idea though. So when is the official day for the release for part I of III?

Eve is an amazing game, the sheer possibilities and lawlessness of it is astounding, the depth to this game is mind boggling. Every new skill learned and every new ship gain is a reward that is hard to describe unlike any other experience I have had. I can not wait for the new instance like encounters.

They refer to them as dungeons, but they aren't instanced. You can still be scanned down and people can enter the same fight as you to do what they want.

I can't wait to get in and grief all the nubs who think these things are instanced and safe. It was smart of CCP to call them Dungeons, because it makes the themepark crowd think they're all alone with their NPC's.
I have a good feeling about this.

Well as long as the prospect of 'griefing' 'nubs' floats yer boat. Of course that translates as 'picking on' 'newbies' which makes you a kind of a bully but whatever....
