Vindictus has hacked its way into the hearts of many players, with its can-do attitude and liberal stance on how many decapitations make your actions morally justified. Apparently, the players aren't the only ones in love with the game, as it has managed to walk away from the G-Star 2010 convention with so many awards that the development team can build a house. The 2010 Korean Game Awards taking place on the show floor awarded Nexon's game the grand prize as well as six other awards for excellence.
The win was a first for Nexon, and it was followed by a half-dozen other awards including the Popular Game Award (in the Online Game category) and all four technical creation categories (Game Planning/Scenario, Game Graphics, Game Character, and Game Sound). CEO Seo Min thanked the organizers for the honors as well as Vindictus players for making the game such a success. Free-to-play games have come a long way as a whole, but if the bevy of awards is any indication, Vindictus is a cut above the rest.

I am not surprised at all, not in the least bit.
Because Vindictus has one thing so many MMO's lack, fun. Pure distiled fun.
No long, drawn out gameplay, no auto attack, no grinding all for the sake of having fun at 'end game'.
Just simple, straight forward bottled fun.
Hop on for 15 mins, achieve something, have a ton of fun in the meantime.
Parties are also loose and fun, no standing around lfg, just join someone as they are going into a mission, usual weather they like it or not.
And for once in what seems like an eternity, fast paced, kinetic and down right enjoyable combat.
No bloody wonder it's winning prizes.
Not surprised at all.

I completely agree. I often find myself not even paying attention to my experience bar or even the quest I am doing. It gets even more grand when tackling huge bosses with a large group of people.

It sucks, I know, but there are work arounds if you research just a little.
To which I made a guide just for the regular occasions where someone gripes about it being US/Canada only.

Now there really isn't any excuse not to try this game out.

Ignoring the fact that I openly stated that Vidictus was US/Canade "only" three comments above aside.
Using a proxy server, the right programs and know-how, you can quite easily circumvent the regional IP block.
So it doesn't really stop people from playing it if they want.
I live in NZ, and I have no problem playing it.

Yeah, it's a matter of getting the right program.
Some proxy programs won't work with certain IP's.
But ProxyFirewall has no such problems.
Spread the word if you would.

It's fun, I just hope it doesn't set a trend for MMOs launching with only two clas... err, two characters without much customisation.
