Awesome write up.. I haven't bought the festival costumes *yet* but I plan to... *HOWEVER*

"They have been acting independent of the Mad King in an attempt to free him, but their plans may be attracting the attention of someone else who would like to return to Tyria..."

That... sounds a whole heck of a lot like a Shiro Tagachi hint for the up-coming Cantha storyline and given just how *impressively* tough the white mantle were during the War in Kryta, the thought of Shiro elevated to that level actually has me scared. O_O

I thought there was talk of Dhuum wanting out. Also, note that they mentioned Tyria, not Cantha... >_>

Damn you, Orrians! Oh, wait...

yah the Dhuum wanting out thing was the focus of the halloween quests which culminated in an underworld full-clear with a fight against Dhuum at the end. In that article they make mention of Dhuum and the Mad King but we already know they both want out badly...

SPOILER ALERT
In that quote they say his aids are trying to free the Mad King.. so we know he wants out, Dhuum has already been a focus of a quest line too... sure they could do the Dhuum angle again but I don't think so, seems too soon especially after Halloween, plus he would have nothing to do with the coming Canthan storyline event.

So there's only two other "big bads" that I know of that would want out of their purgatory that were not mentioned directly in the article. Abbadon.. who is supposedly dead, and Shiro Tagachi who is *not* dead and is currently imprisoned yet again by the Celestial Ministry someplace they claimed he would "Never" escape from at the end of factions... (yeah we see how well that worked in NF). So he has a history of breaking out of torment and being really really mean about it, last time was with Abbadon's help... this time it looks like he's going to find a way through the efforts of the Lunatic Courts work to free the Mad King.

Since they clearly mentioned an up-coming Cantha event it seems very likely that we just might see Shrio once again. Those of you who have fought Shiro, especially in hard mode, without an assassin, may join me in a brief tearful moment of fear.

"There's going to be a set of costumes coming for the wedding"

Obviously I missed something... who is getting married?

"the single greatest need of the Guild Wars community has at long last been fulfilled"

... "top hats"

Seriously?? LOL

I wouldn't believe that ANY small visual detail would make even top20 of community needs.

Anet handling the old game : You're doing it wrong!

How about doing something to improve the game instead of concentrating on milking it with the easiest way possible. Why create a full game worth of content when 3 costumes can sell for the same price? Because people pay that... it's the buyers fault that we get what we get.

I love reading interviews with/articles by Kristen. She just oozes passion for her work, and I really appreciate how she addresses some of the technicalities of her projects to explain some of the limitations of her (and the players') creativies.
