I really like the game but I have stoped playing for one major reason.

Item damage.

The NPC charges WAY to much to fix nearly all my cash, finding people to repair is a PAIN, and the items rebreak within an hour. That is not an exageration, Ive timed it.

This game does a lot to stop me from simply playing it.

To rapair my own armor I have to know 3 crafting and at least 1 gathering classes. So i need to level 4 classes to repair the armor of 1 class.

If i switch class from tank to say caster then I need to learn another 4 classes to repair that.

What other game forces you to play 4 crafting classes you DONT WANT TO PLAY in order to enjoy the class you do?

Moonrise is absolutely crucial. There are a number of enemy types that do not hit too hard normally, but have *devastating* TP attacks, and will spam them once they've built up enough. For example, Imps with 'Impish Incantations' and Puks with that blasted huge knockback somersault attack.

Another attack I'd highly suggest is the Lancer ability 'Trammel.'
Only 500TP to execute, movement crippling 'Heavy' effect, and great damage.
Awesome when applied on Pugilist, as the animation is like a One-Inch punch.

Guide to FFXIV:

1. Roll Pugilist. Get massive SP.

2. Roll Lancer. Get massive SP.

3. Roll Archer. Solo/Duo/Trio tons of stuff groups have trouble killing. Get great exp in parties. Get massive SP.

4. Do not roll Conjurer unless you have a static or like fighting other conjurers for SP. Roll Thaumaturge instead. Get all the SP Cons get healing like them PLUS you have a bug that allows you to mitigate 80% of damage that Cons don't get. You can also get dual points from using Sacrifice as a buff and as a heal.

5. Make an alt toon. Get all three major city aetherpoints. Log in, /shout in town to port people for 10k. Get 5-10 people join your group and port. Make 100k. Do it for all cities, then log out and let it your Anima refresh.

6. Make friend with Japanese players. They own most of this game craft and battle wise, and they know which mobs to kill for maximum SP.

7. If you can't make friends with a Japanese, just kill Efts. From level 20 to level 50 with your party. Everyday. All day. All week. Don't kill anything else. It's boring but so is the whole game pretty much right now so... might as well get the most experience points you can WHILE being bored.

8. Use a controller, not a keyboard.

9. Do leves over and over until youre blue in the face, then when you're done.. go kill Efts. You'll be bored but you'll have plenty of gil to pay for the horrendous gear/weapon decay rate on every item in the game, unless you are using crafter's tools; in which case you'll repair your tools once a month cause they hardly break.

10. If you've done everything above, wait until end of Nov/December until the "magic patch" comes out and makes it all fun somehow.. magically.

What scares me is how much this sounds like FFXI.

JP dominance, porting people for gil, archer/ranger being OP, the same names for all the moves, the same races, same item names. I thought this wasn't supposed to be a straight sequel.
