:( Sad day. I'd be cool with being a crazy old wizard like that crazy old Ben Kenobi. Anyway, Star Wars is so not Sci Fi, it's Fantasy with spaceships. That's why it's so awesome, because it doesn't get bogged down trying to explain things that can't be explained in ways that mesh with actual physics.

Agreed on the fantasy. It has always bothered me people see Star Wars as science fiction. Spaceships and aliens do not a science fiction story make. Alien, for instance, is a horror movie, but just because it's set on a spaceship, people immediately brand it SF.

Star Wars is as fantasy as any other sword and sorcery story. You've got your old wizard, your naive youngling in search of himself, your scoundrel sidekicks, your princess in peril, your dark powers, your exotic bladed weapons, etc.

I'm totally going to be that sniper guy that steals the Sith's kill. ;..;

Also, I hope the radio voice-over in that video was added in post-production... sounded kinda corny. There are a lot of ways to say "Go, go, go!" and very few of them are good.

The only thing that irks me is that everyone in the video is either dual wielding sabers or using the lightstaff. I really hope they change the forced use of weapons and allow people to choose to use the lightsaber style they want, while still being able to do the damage output of their class.

The rest of the video was pretty decent and what you would expect from limited "battleground" style PvP.

Jedi Sage, also Jedi Parsley, Jedi Rosemary, and Jedi Thyme.

Kidding aside, it's always nice to see developers listen to the fans.

Never had any problem with wizard... it's a generic word used in the movies and throughout the EU. They should add wizard back into the poll. :p

Besides, Star Wars isn't really pure sci-fi any more than it's pure fantasy. It's both and then some.

The issue with referring to them as Jedi Wizard is all the advanced class titles are stuff that you could conceivably refer to yourself as. Wizard is only used in the Star Wars universe as slang (typically derogatory) from normal people TO Jedi. A Jedi would generally not refer to himself as a "crazy old wizard."

Just my two cents.

Neither fantasy nor pure SF (and certainly not hard SF). It's space opera.

Glad to see "wizard" going away, personally.

Jedi Sage? Seriously? How is that not almost nearly as bad as Jedi Wizard? And people on the official forums are tripping over themselves to thank Bioware for this opportunity? Really??

My opinion of this game gets worse with every press release.

Good, then don't play it. Nobody is forcing it on you.

They are trying to use the Force and their Jedi mind tricks on him to make him play it cant you tell?
Anyhow I hate when they throw in "Join the Fight" in trailers when the fight isnt ready to be joined yet.

A sage is someone of great wisdom and learning acknowledged by their peers. No magic etc. at all.

No one forced the prequels, midichlorians or Jar Jar Binks on me either, but I still reserve the right to the opinion they're lame too.

I like Jedi Seer. Jedi Wizard sounded too generic!

And that video was cool. :) The animations looked nice and varied without being excessively over the top.

Seriously?

Everybody is still falling on his knees upon death....every sinlge one of them.

That visceral cinematic combat....where is it?
Sure the sabers lock, but could it look any slower?

I enjoy we all like different things, but seeing that video gives me a pretty good reason why they started the advertising with CGI trailers.

Adding more animations is easier when your animations are looking good from the start.
Look at WAR, they had a truckload of animations per character model and most of them were buggy. Better have fewer and less buggy.
