Last week we showed off a batch of PvP screens from Sony Online Entertainment's upcoming DC Universe Online MMORPG. This week, we've got more where those came from, but this time you'll only find these images here on Massively. SOE treats us to twelve new images of player vs. player superhero action, featuring everything from outlandish costumes to fireballs, ice shields, and laser beams (though, sadly, no sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads as of yet). Oh, and don't forget the giant spring-loaded boxing glove.
DCUO, currently slated to release in early 2011, is undergoing closed beta testing. You can read more about the game at the official website.

Still no forum,
Still no Pre-orders outside North America,
Still nowhere to ask questions (and expect an answer at least)
Still nowhere to get a sense of community or interest in the game.
There are 2 dozen other MMOs out there who actually *want* me as a customer, why the hell should anyone bother with one that doesn't seem to care?

There is a forum, but I think it is only for beta testers. At very least, you have to have a station account.
There are a couple of nice community sites: DCUO Source and DCUO Unlimited. Both have had server problems for the last couple of days, but when they are up, you can find any information you need (except for NDA breaking stuff).

Looking forward to the game, but couldn't care less about screenshots - its gameplay videos we want!

This is part one of IGN's walkthrough of the hero gameplay. They also have a villian series up. Both have a nice overview of the character creator as well. These were recorded by a member of DCUO Source and posted. I believe they are authorized because it was from a live-stream that IGN did while raising money for Child's Play(?). It's not bad stuff, but it will only whet your appetite.

Looking forward to the game but PvP screenshots are just pointless.
Want to display PvP do it through gameplay videos or not at all imo.

I got an email this morning that Best Buy canceled my pre-order. Not sure what the deal is there. I guess because they had a release date of November 2nd and since the game was delayed that day came and went?
Batman and I are NOT pleased Best Buy... not pleased at all.

Many others have also got this email from Best Buy. You should be getting another one that they will resolve it and update it for a possible January 2011 release. DCUO *may* release at that time, but I am thinking there will be yet another correction then.
Also, like many who got this same email, you will be getting a $10 off coupon through the e-mail. Enjoy.

I'm sorry but if theres no sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads then that a deal-breaker for me. I'm out.
Plus, Isn't this a full-price subscription fee of fifteen dollars a month?, i just don't have the money to commit to a second MMO.

I love DCUO and think many people would have no issue paying for a subscription. Yet, far more don't paticularly like paying one sub let alone 2 subs.
The realist in me thinks that DCUO has high likely-hood of going F2P-hybrid if it doesn't maintain it's subscription goals.

I have it on good authority that there indeed will be laser imbued sharks in the game. And who needs officicial forums when there's dcuosource.com? It's without a doubt the best resource for the game on the entire web AND the developers from DCUO actually post there. You can get lots of questions answered there.
