Hello Kitty is 36 years old, which should be the sort of thing that makes everyone blink once or twice in surprise. With that sort of pedigree, you'd be surprised not to see a celebration going on -- especially in Hello Kitty Online. Sure enough, there's a huge birthday bash going on right now for players of the game, and participation in the event will have some positive effects in the real world. Sanrio is giving money to charity, based in part upon how many people take part in the birthday festivities.
Players taking part will be sent around the world with sparklers to help cheer up monsters, so that everyone can enjoy the birthday celebration. There's also a small line for upgrading and improving sparklers for maximum effectiveness, with upgrades available in the item shop as a shortcut for participants. A full event guide has been posted, and it promises a special in-game event on November 15th -- which should be an excellent motivator for Hello Kitty Online players to log in and ring in another cat-filled year.

Well, it's not as though World of Warcraft is high art. It's good to have as many games for as many players who want to play them.
I reviewed HKO...it's actually a pretty good little game, and actually has more depth in a few areas than many games, including WoW. In other words, this is not a bad game, especially for younger players.

I have to second this. I actually play HKO from time to time if just because it's good simple fun like playing Bejeweled or Peggle to me. Jump in, play for 30 mins, jump out. About the only negative I have is that the music gets tedious, but that's why you turn it off and listen to something else. :D
(I also collect Badtz-Maru, so I freely admit being part of the Kitty Kult.)

I read that review, Beau.
I will eventually play it, but I want to pick up that pink box up in the store, just to get started, but I keep saying "but" and coming up with excuses not to give it a try!
"For Gamer's Sake", I will, one day!

Well my original point was this title used to be an inside joke for WoW players once upon a time before Burning Crusade but now that's it a reality it's kind of interesting to see it.

....Dude I can Flat guarantee you that the joke emerged IN WoW prior to South Park even having a Warcraft spoof episode. It was usually directed at idiots who claimed the low level instances were way too hard so we usually told them to go play Hello Kitty Online instead which at that time didn't exist.
But now the Joke has come to life and I no longer play WoW so who knows what the current gag is, Though I'm sure the Leeroy Jenkins bit about the egg room in that one instance is still going strong.

You can insist you're right, but the facts say you're wrong.
"On the episode "Make Love, Not Warcraft" of South Park, Butters states that he does not play World of Warcraft but rather the fictional game Hello Kitty Island Adventure."
