"march down to EDC headquarters on Wednesday to do something unspecified about 38 Studios."

What does that even mean?

Good question. It doesn't sound promising, though. Do you ever "march" anywhere with gladness in your heart?

Ironically, it's the teabagger candidate (John Robitaille) that supports the loan, according to the article.

I literally thought the exact same thing.

Like, is he going to violate them... Or something?

It's just one of those things a politician says to the press to show his supporters he means "serious bizness" and get more votes because he tries to make himself look like "a man of action" when all he really needs to do is just invalidate the legislation at the next state senate meeting or Veto the bill.

Interesting turn of events for Schilling's company. It would be extremely ironic to Schilling politically if it takes a Dem to get his deal sealed. Funny that his party of choice doesn't want the deal at all.

apparently RI isn't all that serious about attracting new industry, or takes great pleasure in shooting itself in the foot. not sure which.

Good to see the politicians are focusing on the important issues like aging infrastructure, health care, education, unemployment, reducing taxes, and old-age citizen care instead of jumping on the nearest bandwagon of controversy.

Oh wait, my bad.

If I lived in Rhode Island, I'd actually be pretty irritated that the state is giving a $75 million dollar loan to a single company from money earmarked to help multiple small businesses. I'd be even more irritated that it's a video game company instead of something more crucial. I'd be even MORE irritated that it's a game company that 1) hasn't shipped a game, and 2) is spending $100 million-plus creating an MMORPG that has a higher likelihood of completely cratering in the marketplace than it does being a runaway success (especially when it's going up against WoW).

I'm glad I don't live in Rhode Island.

FYI could you have confirmed the Box Art story. According to Curt that is NOT the official box art for the Kingdoms of Amalur. It's just an Amazon.com mock up
