Gina Torres as Wonder Woman in DC Universe

The hits just keep on coming for DC Universe Online, as SOE has added another A-list performer to the game's star-studded voice cast. Gina Torres, well-loved in geek circles for her role as Firefly's Zoe Washburne, lends her vocal talent to one of DC's classic heroines: Wonder Woman.

In the latest Voices of the Game video, creative director Jens Andersen narrates a brief look at Wonder Woman's in-game appearances as well as Torres' work in the recording studio. Torres, who also guest-starred in Joss Whedon's Angel, is the third Whedonverse veteran to sign up for SOE's superhero extravaganza, joining James Marsters (Lex Luthor) and Adam Baldwin (Superman). Other DC Universe Online notables include Arlene Sorkin, Wil Wheaton, and Dwight Schultz.

Very nice, I knew Wonder Woman's voice sounded familiar but couldn't put my finger on it as a Firefly fan I am ashamed of myself. :(

Is Adam Baldwin no longer voicing Supes? If he is, then that's three from the Whedonverse.

Why are the still doing voice Acting?? I thought this game was supposed to be out the door by now.. This is a Bad, Bad sign....

No, its a sign you havent been keeping upto date.

It was offficial announced a few weeks back the release date has been pushed back till Q1 2011 for longer beta and fine tuning.

Voice acting in games is one if the last things that finish cause of last minute tweaks. Also the voice actors will continue to be used in future updates.

Stop trying to fuel tolls

Cool! Gina Torres rocks. She was especially great as Jasmine on Angel, and I see that she was also the voice of Superwoman (the evil parallel universe version of Wonder Woman) in Crisis on Two Earths.

Another great voice actor revealed.

I think the Devs over at DCUO really knocked this one out of the park with thier casting of Gina Torres as Wonder Woman. Her voice fits the mold of the Icon perfectly. Strength, Intelligence, Poise, Grace, and Authority. Anyone who dedicated thier time to Firefly knows Gina could pull those attributes off with ease. Despite being damn proud of SOE for holding back on the launch of DCUO for more Beta and fine tuning, seeing amazing Vids like this makes the wait painful. The first-time I hear Gina's Wonder Woman calling me for help on a mission or giving me a "Well done." I admit, I'm going to Nerd-Out, just a bit.

All I can say about DCUO is it is the most fun, most playable Superhero MMO I have ever played, and the second most fun, most playble MMO I have ever played.

It's what Champions should have been but wasn't.

The voice acting in this game is literally setting a new standard for MMOs and video games in general.

It is so wonderful that DCUO went to the wall and got all these very excellent people.

DCUO IMHO has by far the BEST voice acting cast of any MMO to date.

Plus the choices of people they have made for who voices who is perfection.

Omg Gina Torres and Adam Baldwin hahahaha. Imagining Adam Baldwin VO for super man makes me giggle.

He's played Superman before, in Superman:Doomsday

"I would love to have the power to bring back shows that were cancelled before their time. I'd bring back Nowhere Man, Jericho and, of course, Firefly to start. We'd have to work out a schedule with Nathan, though. Castle's too good a show to get him to quit."
