Dont you just hate it when all the effects just blur out the characters?

It is one of the permanent graphical flaws in City of Heroes, and the more recent powersets like Demon Summoning make it worse, not better: the particle effects were designed for solo play. What that means is that when you get 8 people firing off all of their powers in an enclosed space, plus all of the NPC enemies shooting back, you can't see a (bleep)ing thing beyond arm's reach through the candy-colored fog.

You can alter how many effects you see from various sources. Turn down some of them, turn down all of them, your choice.

Actually, Tempes, there is a command to change the distance for suppressing effects. I can't recall what it is, but I know it's out there.

Nice to see some good TFs being made. Most of them really suck bad in this game. Will likely sub up again for i19 whenever that comes out.

This game is usually way too slow on providing updates. This is a nice change.

I also wonder how the game is doing and it's future. They just had some lay offs which included that Back Alley Brawler guy. It seems there is new life in this game but then the lay-offs hit; could have been the plan from the start. The only certainty here is the company itself will never tell you a thing. Like most video game companies, they think the consumer is better left in the dark on various issues. Sad.

"We don't want players to be overshadowed by iconic figures like Statesman or Lord Recluse. In the Incarnate system, players will embark on the path that will end with them being seen as more powerful than the current iconic figures in the game. The Alpha Slot is the beginning of that. We're moving the story to focus on the player character being the hero or villain, and not feeling as if they're the lackey or sidekick to established characters. "

This. I love this. And if the Television wasn't just so gosh darn lovable, I'd love you too, Dr. Aeon.

"City of Heroes is unique in the MMO world because we break away from the "holy trinity" requirements"

This is so true. When I am forming up to do Taskforces I just tell my buddies and other random people I find to bring whatever they like. Hell, there have been Statesman Taskforce runs with only Scrappers. I've been part of one, lots of fun!

If the Protean fight is any indication of how some of that stuff is going to go, then it should be do-able. Challenging, requiring one to be quick on one's feet, but certainly do-able.

Bring me, bring me, I have a dark defender! Howling twilight solves all your being dead problems! :)

Back on topic, the new task forces sound good. I'll believe it when I see it though, and test it out to see how they feel.
