New DCUO video details Metropolis Police Department

DC Universe Online may have been delayed from its original November 2010 start date, but the SOE marketing department is still faster than a speeding bullet (and arguably more powerful than a locomotive). Lately we've been privy to everything from voiceover videos with the game's star-studded audio cast, to new screenshots galore, to fly-through videos of the expansive game world.

Today brings another fly-through clip, this time showcasing the Metropolis Police Department that functions as an in-game hub for your characters. In addition to footage in and around the station, the video also provides a bit of background on the use of the wanted posters inside the station. The posters provide lore about DCUO's more noteworthy personalities as well as serve a gameplay function by helping you track them down for various missions. The VO wasn't impressive. Give me some Morgan Freeman, Sony!

This is probably the most rock solid title SOE has produced in terms of polish playability and all out fun. It will never replace my beloved WoW but this will be my back up game.

you know for a high tech police force, they sure suck in keeping criminals behind bars.

@mandarin they are dealing with super powered villains and they are normal people what do you expect?

So when's the new release date? I thought November might have been a bit too soon.

So you can only play as heroes no villains?

There are going to be multiple hubs I'd have to assume. At least one for villains and one for heroes. SOE just didn't show all of them with this preview. That's why it is called a preview and not an everythingview.

Everythingview arent you the smart one.How hard is it to say that the villain side would have a similar type of hub for them without having to go full into showing it.Anyways the game doesnt really look all that interesting to me anyways,if I need my superhero fix I think Ill just jump on CO's f2p or go back to COH/V.

Release date is currently set as Q1 2011. Always a chance of it being pushed back.

Both hero and villain play is allowed, but no side swapping.

So as a "villain" are you going to the "police station" for tasks and info?

I wonder if this is this gameplay footage or a cinematic? The graphics sure look a million times better than the last video I saw which has got me interested again but I am worried they have touched up the look as its a marketting video after all. I guess time will tell.
