SOE is getting a lot of marketing mileage out of DC Universe Online's voice-acting, and with such a star-studded cast behind the microphone, you can hardly blame them. In a press release earlier today, the MMORPG maker outlined four new additions to DCUO's roster including two Star Trek veterans, a memorable Batman villainess, and one of radio's leading voice talents.
First up is Arleen Sorkin, instantly recognizable to Batman fans as the voice and personality behind Harley Quinn. Next is Wil Wheaton, Star Trek: The Next Generation veteran and responsible for bringing DCUO's Robin to life. Dwight Schultz, also of Star Trek (and the A-Team) fame, signs on to portray the Flash, while Corey Burton, a veteran voice actor with hundreds of productions under his belt, will be powering the notorious Brainiac.

They are really trying to up the geek-quotient with their voice work. There are a few other recognizable voices from one of my favorite bug-named canceled sci-fi shows as well.

Poor Wheaton just can't get away from the Boy Wonder roles. ;)

Always good to see Burton reprising the definitive Brainiac. Schultz as the Flash I can take or leave, I guess. Wheaton has now voiced Aqualad, Blue Beetle (Ted), Cosmic Boy and Robin, and Robin is the voice that suits him least I think. (I assume they're going with Tim and pretending nothing in the past couple years has happened, as he'd make a LOUSY Damian IMO. No slam on his talents, just a character who desperately needs an English accent.)

I remember how excited I was about the voice acting in EQ2 as well. But that seemed to peter out as each expansion and update came along to where nearly every character said, "Hail". I hope they can keep that thrill alive with this release. It was fun hearing all the different comments and really added to the immersion.
