The Daily Grind: What kill gave you the most satisfaction?

"One day, I swear, you'll be the death of me!" our moms promised. While this never happened (and if it did, we at Massively will not be caught harboring fugitives in the comments section), it turns out that we did become the death of many, many things. MMOs are virtual slaughterhouses, full of bloodthirsty warriors and crazy-eyed mages looking to exterminate the local fauna in exchange for a few pieces of coin and an experience point or two. Killing is what we do, and we do it quite well.

In the spirit of rat-murdering sprees, we want to ask you: What kill in an MMO gave you the most satisfaction? Was it a major raid boss that you and 39 of your closest friends finally downed? Was it the final death blow at the end of a super-long grind? Was it even a PvP victory in which you finally got even with an annoying nemesis?

First time we killed Nagafen EQ1.

The first time I solo'd Teremus the Devourer. It was touch and go for a bit but in the end payback is a sweet sweet candy.

The first time we killed Palpatine or maybe Boba Fett on a Star Wars MUD back in 94 or 95'ish.

Arthas, definitely. He was on my shit list since I started playing WoW. . It's been a long time coming.

Oh, oh, easy one!

Finally defeating Shiro Tagachi on my own with heroes/henches in Guild Wars Factions. Of all the end story bosses in Guild Wars, I always found Shiro to be the hardest to solo.

No kidding.. going to have to agree with you on that one, no matter what build I throw at him Shiro is always a challenge to beat in time for masters.

The Gaurdian of Tomorow in ToTW in AO.

A 12 hour camp to get the armour drop. I wouldn't do such things these days but its still one of my best memories.

The fact that people were commenting on me a fixer wearing it made it all even more great. It felt like a genuine achievement.

We camped him with 2, me as a fixer and my friend as a keeper.

I only remember screaming aloud when my guild killed archimonde after 2 or 3 months. For a group that was composed of pyros, killing a boss without someone during to fire was really hard.

Several hundred of us killed The Sleeper...twice. The fight itself lasted approximately a year (give or take a few days). I can promise that whatever anyone else has killed. They won't top that epic battle against a mob that was put into the game but was made to be unkillable. There wasn't even any loot.

Probably the greatest thing about killing The Sleeper was that nobody else had done it before. Once he's awakened on a server, he's gone for good and most servers lost their chance. EQ was awesome. I feel sorry for WoW kids who think that killing anything in that game compares.

I agree, though I personally never got past the 4th warder...

I guess it all depends on 'how' the sleeper was killed though - if you were in a group that used the Call of the Hero exploit to drag folks back under the bridge out of the fight to heal/med up - I don't think it counts. :)

I agree, nothing in wow compares to pretty much any raid or boss fight in EQ. The wow community would never last against EQ

Warhammer. An order player decided to jump off a cliff to escape me. Heeheehee.

Anub'Rekhan in Naxx (WoW0. It was my first time raiding with a new guild of equally first time raiders and it took us a couple of weeks but felt like such an achievement - the first step on the ladder of raiding!

Shartuul ... after the teleporter event chain.
Best solo boss/event fight I remember.

Not in mmo, sorry. It was Sarevok in Baldur's Gate 1
