NCsoft has taken the wraps off another portion of its mobile platform offensive as today marked the unveiling of the new Aion Exchange app for Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iOS devices. The app provides live access to the fantasy MMO's broker system, as well as options for viewing your character info, statistics, and equipment.
The broker feature includes an item search as well as price lists, a wish list, and push notifications that will alert you to sales without the need to log into the game or open the app. Finally, Aion Exchange features a comprehensive item listing that boasts info about each piece of equipment available in game. Chris Hager, NCsoft West producer, sees the app as the first step in extending the world of Atreia beyond the desktop. "We see this application as an extension of the game and we will continually support and update the service offering with future feature updates," he said.

Make this available on the PC as a standalone little app and I'm interested. Considering how long it takes Aion to load (forever!!!), it would be useful to keep track of broker items while I'm playing Guild Wars.

Apparently a lot of people agree with you, Jef, given how fast your post has been voted up. Yours truly included. :D

For once, Tempes, we agree. A phone is a phone. I have a PC to do gaming things.
Keeping the two separated is important, imo.

"Another feature done first by WoW."
That comment is ironical because not only didnt WoW do it first, but actually Aion had this App available since 2009 long before Blizzard even announced to release their cheap copycat version for WoW in February 2010.
Except Aions App was just not translated and available for the Western audience but only the Korean.

I've found the app quite useful for several things:
* checking fort statuses when I'm out of town and can't play
* checking to see which characters have sold items at the broker and/or have mail
* using the wishlist feature to keep up with items I intend to buy or make for alts or friends
* using the broker search to look up something when I'm in an instance and need to reference an item's properties
* 2 words: price stats -- I love being able to see price trends!
