The OLD Old Forest was truly scary. I was very disappointed when they baby-fied it.

Yeah, getting lost in there was a right of passage. Hated Agamaur-all that red makes it worse than Angmar and the others-Moria maybe dark but at least it isn't red. Hardest color for the eye to see.

yeah I remember I used to stick around the old forest area to act as tour guide when people would get lost. The place almost felt like the trees were moving and changing the path until you got used to it.

+1 for the OLD Old Forest. Holy moley. The first year or so after launch, it was downright brutal and terrifying. Before I fully had a handle on the game, and before I knew about Tab-selecting mobs, running into an angry Huorn that TWO SECONDS AGO looked like a regular old tree was two shrieks short of pants-sh*tting. So sad they nerfed it.

LOTR pve isnt scary in the least. What would be scary is if they let the monster players out of the ettens once a month until they were tracked down and killed or hit a 24 hour timer.

I still dream of one day, creeping up behind some hobbit blowing smoke rings over a placid stream whilst waiting for the fish to bite.......heavy sigh.
