After two days of testing, I'm hooked. I'm a Koei fanboy of the worst kind though, so it simply gives me another outlet for hack and slash when the wife controls the TV.

Desperately waiting for Open Beta though, the current stock of weapons is very limited. Eagerly wanting to use Guan Ping or Zhou Tai's movesets. Hell, even Xiahou Dun would suffice compared to the current selection.

Twin Maces - Diao Chan
Twin Swords - Lu Xun
Axe - Dian Wei
Twin Picks - Pang De
Spear - Zhao Yun
Bo Staff - Unique to DWO

These types of games need to live and die on the console. This is a absolute horrid interface that you can't even go higher than 1280x800 and the damn thing kept locking up my Windows7 machine!

The interface is not horrid and maybe you should check your system because I can set the game to 1280x1024 which is what i have my moniter set to and play all my games at anyways so it doesnt bother me.Also game hasnt locked up my machine once and it is a 4 year old refurbished hp that I added memory too and it runs fine. There is a bug atm that they are aware of and working on(it is closed beta by the way and what this testing is for, some people seem to forget that)that after a session is finished a error(107003) pops and you get dcd after but they said they have a fix and it will be implemented when game goes live on Monday the 18th.Other than that error I have had no problems and when I play it brings me back to the old ps 1 DW days.
The game is pretty awesome I find the combat as fun as Vindictus's combat.

Very fun game, will be even better when they get bugs ironed out and the game becomes more polished. It can get repetitive but the animations, fast paced killing, and pvp scenario's keep me interested. If you are into the Vindictus style of action fighting you should give this game a shot.

Am I just blind? I cannot find where I am supposed to redeem my beta key on Aeria's website. I've looked in quite a few locations but it's certainly not apparent to me. Maybe after I download the game...?

Joe,

*points up at the article* See the giant bolded line right above the big green button? You want that link right there. ^_^

Figured out the problem. They decided not to let the box appear until you'd actually made your account, logged in, and then if you came back to that screen the box would magically appear. Why they decided to do it that way makes no sense to me, but I tend to think logically.

I must say I feel a tad insulted by all the people who didn't think I noticed the "giant bolded line". I clicked on it but because the box only appears under certain conditions, it wasn't there. On the other hand, there's certainly any number of people who visit this website that do miss things like that.

They need to work on the UI. Major overhaul.
if you use a gamepad it works but if your a pc gamer
it will ruin the experience.

Oh the nostalgia... this game coined Dynasty Warrior's combat so perfectly in the form of a MMO, I wasn't getting my hopes up, but when I saw "Koei" and "Wu-somethingsomething" that were present on start up of my old DW2/3/4 games, I was just grinning.

As Bublefett mentioned, the UI could get some work, but they probably just took DW3 or 4's engine (I am pretty sure it's closer to the third game).

But yes, this is a game that you MUST play with a controller. Mouse and keyboard just doesn't cut it, same for games like Vindictus, you don't play third person, fast-paced hack and slash with a keyboard.

Yea luckily i had a old saitek controller and it vastly improved my experience. For those that dont know you can remap the keys on the keyboard but you have to go into launch configuration at the box of options before you pick launch game, unfortunately you cant do it in game.

unfortunately I'm getting the D/C error described above, it makes you do the entire session you just did all over again, so annoying, but that's what a CBT is for. Can't wait for a fix, playing this with my logitech controller and it really is a lot of fun
