Sony Online Entertainment has graced us with its latest batch of weekly screenshots for its recently delayed DC Universe Online title. The superhero action MMORPG, tentatively scheduled for early 2011, looks to feature healthy amounts of beat-'em-up action if these screens are any indication.
Check out our gallery below where you'll see Power Girl getting pwned by Parasite and a player-created biker chick. We're not sure who makes up the delectable double-team that's going down in the Batcave, but it looks cool regardless. There's also a shot of Amazons running amok at a Metropolis subway station, as well as some players duking it out in the Egyptian-themed Temple of Isis.

The picture looks good, but the video posted showed us, or me rather, the opposite.
I hope they can clean up a little bit as the mechanics of the power sets looked rather fun.

I assume the video was hastily put together and not reviewed by folks with care.
Of course any game can look hectic and junky like that if captured wrong.
Everything else about DCUO looks like an awesome MMO and wonderful CHANGE to a more action based, streamlined style of game.
Rather than the convoluted, grindy, time-sinks so many MMORPGs are currently.

This pretty much. I can't trust screenshots from DCUO now, In fact I notice more flaws in them. What a bad move that vid was.

What are those weird little aliens? Are they NPCs or has any one heard about a pet class/power?

The big guy's Parasite. And these look to be smaller versions of him. Parasite's ability is to steal powers.. so maybe he stole someone's power to spawn attack midgets.

DCUO lost me when they delayed until Spring. It was perfectly timed in its November release.

If a delayed release date is all it took to lose you, then they're better off as you're difficult to please as it is.

They had to use common sense business decisions when addressing the WoW cata release. Most MMO houses have accepted they don't want to even try to compete with a Blizzard release.
More time to polish can only help too.
