Looking to get a head start on some F2P dungeon-crawling, vampire staking, and goblin smashing? It's your lucky night, as Nexon America has let us know that the Vindictus open beta has left the terminal a bit ahead of schedule.
The festivities include the game's newly accessible third episode, the aforementioned new mobs, and a new dungeon (Ainle), which you can enter from boat dock three. Inside, you'll encounter a town overrun with fireball-flinging undead and assorted underworld minions, many of which can be picked up and used as thrown weapons thanks to the game's Source Engine physics.
In addition to the new content, early access beta players will be able to retain their characters, rank, and loot when Vindictus officially launches later this month. Check out more of our Vindictus coverage, including video of the game's grappling moves, or head over to the official web site for more info.

Yea shame the patch is as big as the game... That on top of the fact their servers are being hammered right now, a lot of people wont be playing until later tonight, or tomorrow.

I was about to comment on that. I have a 25mbit connection and it's going super slow. Meanwhile my boyfriend downloaded it on his 5mbit DSL in about 30 minutes. T.T
I just want to try the new character, I understand she was released. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I really enjoyed the early access beta aside from a little bug here or there. Fun stuff. And the patch is pretty good sized like the poster above me said.

The game is pretty fun. But the new item shop limitation rules kinda suck...
A good 75 percent of the items are rental for 30 days, lame! There needs to be permanent items. I know they need to make their money being F2P, but come on.
This hurts casual gamers a lot who don't log in every single day to play.
"sorry your hair, tattoo, etc rental expired, please purchase again" yeah ok....

The game is fun enough but mostly I'm waiting for the giant dude in the back to get released.
Long wait I know, since the Korean game still doesn't have him.

I'm really interested in how Nexon America will manage to ruin this game, with their usual greed and nationalism.
Will it be increased difficulty and grind?
Over bearing cash shop?
Or both?
Let's see what Min Kim decides...

True but all of that means nothing when Nexon America's staff decide to make their usual adjustments "to make a unique playing experience for our American players"
Here are some things I can see them doing:
Reducing the rate that energy is regenerated, to make the game harder.
Increasing mob damage/HP.
Reducing experience gains to make the grind even worse (Dungeon Fighter anyone? They turn games with zero grind, into grinders).
Reducing item drop rates to increase grinding.
Increasing the costs of items in the cash shop ( A Nexon America tradition)
