Sp Skaven are not a playable race with no classes, but more like a pet that you rent and control as your character for a brief time? Meh.

Since they announced the game I wanted to play as a Skaven all the time.

Carrie Gouskous, whatever/spelling, was in no way shape or form ready to be a producer of this game, or any.

She does/did not have the requisite knowledge or experience in order to hold the position of producer. All one has to do is look at the game SINCE she came in and see a faster decline of it, a smaller sub base, even smaller Tier 1 population in game.

Whoever decided to put this person in the producer chair screwed up the game even more, if thats possible. Its just a question of time before this game goes full free to play.

Its rather sad. They pull up a virtual nobody to put in the producer chair, and she had a great opportunity to help the game, and did nothing. And the stigma will follow her in this industry permanently.

You blew your chance Carrie. There are no second chances at it.....Judging from appearances, you might want to consider a job at Burger King....

Ouch, that is harsh!

But I do agree, Carrie is not a very good producer, but than again, she probably is working on a shoestring budget these days with a tiny development team, I'm sure she is doing the best she can with what she gets from EA.

Considering how many utterly retarded developers (much, much worse than Carrie) seem to keep securing funding for their half-finished, buggy pieces of junk over and over again, I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Wow thats a bit harsh. I guarantee you couldn't do a better job. I'm not agreeing with all of her and Mythics decisions and I won't ever subscribe again because of the decisions they've made the last year. but here is how I picture it....

Scene: The RMS Titanic bridge
Location: 400 miles south of Newfoundland
Time: April 14 1912 at about 23:45

Carrie: Yes Captain, you wanted to see me?
Captain Smith: Carrie, you are being field promoted.
Carrie: What!?! Sir, we are sinking.
Captain Smith: I know. They have a spot saved on the last lifeboat for me.
Carrie: Isn't the captain supposed to go down with the ship?
Captain Smith: Yes, that's why you are now the captain. Good luck!
Carrie: .....

Personally Im not gonna talk much about the producer here - cause she is in a hopeless situation. The game was left for dead and now when its no longer profitable in terms of subs - EA/Bioware are spending abit of money to start abit of PR campaign. Nothing has been deliverd tho - and since its Mythic ... we know we are in for alot of bugs - problems and issues that take alot longer to solve than with most other developers.

The fact of the matter is that Mythic is very unprofessional gaming developer in so many ways. We only have to look at the testing process to see their need to feel like gods instead of allowing the gamers to play and focus on the numbers. Instead they listen to some fanboys yelling "I love you" !!.

Unprofessional work is for all around WAR atm. From the Download client (that still talks of june producer letter) to the long lists of endless bugs - both new and old that are not fixed.

I am a live long Warhammer fan. But I still dont understand how a gaming developer was able to fail so miserably in delivering the Warhammer world into MMORPG. And still they go on ... Now focusing on creating more issues than they are solving.

The fact of the matter is that RVR is LIMITED. It limits the game so much based on so many features - including technical issues - to the pure fact that the RVR campaign is simply not scaleable at all. You will require X minimum numbers to take part.. and if you got more Zmax then you will have outgrown the entire system.

The sad thing about WAR tho... is that EA/Mythic/Bioware manage to make so many wrong desissions with the title -that its not even funny. WOW is still growning cause Blizzard recognises the limits of the game engine. The dont spend much time in rewarding ppl to pile up into 1 map or into 1 fortress. Thats just stupid mecanic. Still... Mythic does it - get exactly the same issues that BLizzard team knows will happen ... and call it RVR...

Warhammer is to good to have to take this treatment from totally incompitent developers. Thats sad to say... but its still the truth.

I agree with Nightfall31, if you actually listen to her during the Q&A sessions on the ventrilo... she attacks Andy and doesn't even listen to half the questions thrown at her which she repeatedly asks them to repeat because she was too busy watching T.V.

So what's the history between WAR and Carrie Gouskos?
I'm not familiar with the situation, but I've never seen a producer themselves be directly in the crosshairs as often as she has been over the handling of WAR.

These folks do not understand what fun is, even for the nitche that WAR should fullfill.

1. They introduce a race, that isn't a playable race. You cannot establish a connection with something long term when you don't control its growth, talents, etc.

2. They introduce Skaven classes that don't matter.

* A Rat Ogre can knock people away... who cares? If there were tanking classes like the Ironbreaker, Black Orc and more that could do that.... oh wait.

* Two other classes that they didn't even seem enthusiastic about. Including another dreaded "support" class like the Eng and Magus.

* Gutter Runners who can jump onto walls and sabotage siege gear... once again, really? Pretty sure people do Witch Elf, Marauder, Choppas pushes as is. The only reason that stopped was due to the deadbolt on keeps. Scrap the entire stupid class and just take away deadbolts, problem solved and people can play the actual characters.

3. The Skaven dungeon is another absolute joke. Last I checked they removed the PvE elements from Altdorf and IC because they were fatally flawed. Now they bring it back as "part of the campaign" and mechanics that Pokemon would be ashamed of. Taking your RR 65+ players out of the true RvR combat to, once again, grind PvE loot for RvR better is disruptive and downright retarded. Even now a new 40 can be 2-3 shotted in RvR in most cases, why would you take something like that and allow only the long term grinders access to even better gear?

Mythic has thier heads up thier arses once again. Which is horrible since you can tell there is a core group there trying thier damnedest. Working under clueless executive staff though leads to disasters.

Your criticisms are far too harsh for not having actually tested the content in T4 and seeing how it plays out.

Take for instance, you viewing the rr65+s leaving the RvR zone for their dungeon. You do realize that means that all the lowbies no longer have to deal with the full sovereign 80s for that duration, right? The new sets aren't THAT much more powerful, however it is enough of a draw to keep the players that have been around since launch to continue subscribing and having fun.

The skaven mechanics coupled with the aerial bombers will mean that we're fighting the DEFENDERS, not the door. This refocuses the fight from "Keep the enemy of the walls but hardly killing them", or, worse, RvDoor, to "Get inside the keep and fight as hard as you can while a couple people take down the door".

I agree with Nightfall31 pretty much she ruin the game. There no chance we ever see a new race or chr with her as the producer of the game. Pretty much i am looking forward to "The Old Republic" I mean pretty much how she wants skaven is bunch of bull @#$%. I will play up certain point with this game but i am sick and tired of seeing what could be a good game be torn down by person that has no idea what she doing

I'm pretty sure the F2P choice would have been better, not because I want to spend time playing this game, but because (supposedly) PvP-based games tend to do better with larger player populations. The extra PvP then becomes content for their players.

Skaven sound like a loose version of LotRO's PvM stuff.

PS, since carrie took over, the population has actually increased.

PS, the PVE portion of the city was removed because it didn't allow for you to fight the opposing side. the skaven dungeon allows you to fight the opposing side, in fact it sounds an awful lot like the City Siege currently.

Basically what ya have here, is a buncha people mad they didn't go the massive PVE route and focus mostly on RVR.

Cause focusing on the one thing your game has going for it, is a mistake, they should just focus on PVE and be like LOTRO/WoW/EQ2 and the 100's of other PVE mmo's

Looks like neither of you can back up your statements with proof that the population is dwindling or gaining. As a person that hasn't played the game in over a year, I look at all this grief that people are giving the game as a deterrent to playing it again.

That said, I really do think they should do the f2p thing because it would only help the population regardless of whether it's up or down.

I also agree that the developers are probably not working with the best budget. If there's little-to-no money to work with, then there's less incentive to really care about what you're working on. The drive to get things done just becomes more of a daunting chore. That's the feeling I get from these recent articles about the current state of the game.
