it's the first time i said this , but i couldn't agree more with you there, it is a horrible product .

it was build with a console in mind , with a rushed release for pc version just to suck up money from the poor souls of the fanboys.

The game has no recipes and basically forces you to log off and write down recipes and log back on just to find out you need to use 5 other recipes for other classes to craft a mat for the item you're trying to make.

There is a window mode option so you dont have to log out of the game. Dual screening also has huge advantages here. They are also adding a recipe book. And yes SE wanting you to play alot of the classes really shows in the Disciplines of the Hand.

At the risk of being down-ranked to the darkest shade of midnight blackness.

I actually like the game, I got a handle on the game-play, and i do keyboard and mouse or controller depending on if I can commandeer my television for the evening or not.

However, I have unsubscribbed since there is a giant lack of content currently in the game, the thought of needing to commit time to sitting at a camp and "begging" ppl to share their leves with me is enough alone to make me quit. I shouldn't have to fight tooth and nail to find something to do other than harvest and craft.

If they can put in more content, or at least more overland mob spawns (if you want us to grind some, thats fine, but let me find more than 1 mob every 3 mins of running around). Although I do think I will end up re-subbing as I follow certain patch notes.

Its too bad that this topic here is always gonna be such a flame magnet, It's like saying "i love my xbox" over on the joystiq webpage.

OK, here's how it works.

FFXIV is that super-hot chick who is totally out of your league and a beautiful person deep down inside, who for some reason asks you back to her place.

But when you get there, it turns out her idea of a good time is to beat the snot out of you and jam stuff up your rear. Now... some people are masochists and they think that BECAUSE of this, she's their nirvana. Others are uncomfortable with it, but put up with it because OMG, no seriously, she is that hot and a wonderful person outside the bedroom. But if you aren't a masochist and don't want to have to grit your teeth and try not to cry when you're trying to get your rocks off, back away. Your colon will thank you.

Who knows... maybe one day in six or twelve months time she'll call you up to let you know the BDSM stuff was just a phase, and now she doesn't play like a bad PS3 port with dominance issues on how you spend your time.

please go cry on your 360 or anywhere other than here. just because a game is a little to complex for you doesn't make it bad. you sir are the fail.

I wouldn't use the word 'complex' to describe FFXIV's gameplay. A more appropriate word would be 'cumbersome'.

Not saying it's a bad game... just has a lot of issues that need to be resolved before I would invest any time or money into it.

You must be brain damaged.

1. "please go cry on your 360" That doesn't make any sense.
No one likes this game, not just people that play 360.

2. "just because a game is a little to complex for you doesn't make it bad"
There is nothing complex in this game, and it's terrible, not bad.

3. "you sir are the fail" Who are you even talking to?
You are not replying to anyone and you never say that you are talking to anyone specific.

Not to be funny, but common sense would tell me he's talking to one of the 2 ppl above him. Most likely the one who started his post with the word "fail" in capital letters.

And to say no one likes it is a little silly seeing as how there are obviously ppl playing it as we speak who like it.

Joker:

"1. "please go cry on your 360" That doesn't make any sense.

Some people do like the game. One of those people is me.

"2. "just because a game is a little to complex for you doesn't make it bad"
There is nothing complex in this game, and it's terrible, not bad. "

Have you tried the crafting system? I'm not saying this game is "complex" but it isnt an easy game either. Just because you dont play a certain part of the game, doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

The game may not be good by your standards, but I like it. (I'm not saying there are no bugs or issues, just that I like the game.)

PS: Complex Good. That's not my point.

"3. "you sir are the fail" Who are you even talking to?
You are not replying to anyone and you never say that you are talking to anyone specific.
You are the definition of fail."

Yeah the original poster was in just as bad taste as the person he meant to respond to. I dislike the Haters as much as I dislike the fanboys. If you take FFXIV from an objective point of view, it's not a TERRIBLE game. It has issues. It feels like it was rushed. It holds on to archaic MMO ideas (like wasting a players time, or punishing a player instead of rewarding). But it's also Different. Gives the ability to have more fun and focus on crafting. Pretty. And one thing I like about it is it gives me the ability to excell as an altaholic/completist.

Please dont get me wrong. I am saying that I dont think the game is Terrible. and I'm not saying it's good but I'm saying I like it.

My point: Dont assume everybody agrees with you. Your statements are stated as a matter of fact when they arnt all true. If you like the game, fine. If you dont like it, fine. But at least accept the fact that some people do like the game and those people arnt just morons.

@Raziellionheart. Actually i was joking.

I couldn't resist messing with the brain damaged guy.

I love and hate FFXIV at the same time.

The bugs and server lag are so frustrating that i can't even play the game i payed $80.00 for. I asked for a refund from SE and they basically said FU CHUMP!
There really should be laws in place for games like this that rip people off.

BTW "Gives the ability to have more fun and focus on crafting".

You don't have to log off. And the game is moving smoother than it did in beta.

The fact that any FFXIV topic on this website incites flames from people kind of worries me. Just because you don't like the game doesn't make people that enjoy different games than you fanboys.

I must say the game has it's flaws but the complexity of learning how to play and how to craft keeps me coming back for more. I really like the idea of learning how to play a complex game again. The graphics are breath taking and while they sometimes bring my computer to its knees I must say I am having a blast taking screen shots and generally just running around. I look forward to playing this game for quite a long time to come.

Finally got a high enough rank to start up the third story quest sequence.
Man, this thing is getting intense.
Have a decently full palate of mining and questing to do later tonight.

Welcome to all the new denizens of Eorzea.
A word to the wise:
~READ YOUR JOURNAL~
This game isn't a cryptic cipher to crack the vast majority of the time.
Reading the journal and listening to NPC dialog will help you go very far.
