Through all of Superman's adventures, there's one adversary that epitomizes everything he's not: Lex Luthor. A brilliant man with no special powers, Luthor has nothing but contempt for others, seeking control and power even at the same time that he seeks the destruction of Superman. It's a known fact that Luthor will be featured in DC Universe Online, after appearing in the cinematic trailer as both antagonist and ally -- but now we get to see the man himself in his now-familiar power armor.
Marv Wolfman, writer for DC Universe Online, has plenty of history with writing Luthor, as he was behind the character's shift from being a mad scientist to the cold and calculating businessman he is today. And any veteran of DC comic continuity knows that Luthor might not ever come out on top... but he always makes for a worthy adversary. Take a gander at the gallery for a good look at an iconic character in the game -- a sometimes-ally, a dangerous adversary, and one of the motivating factors behind the game's overarching plot.

WHAT? Still no player-created character with a cape? So does that mean the character creation will give us a smörgåsbord of armors and metallic stuff?
Call me crazy, but this is starting to worry me.

Okay, everyone call blitzkrieg Crazy. Cause if he had looked at SDCC, Gamescon, or E3 video he would have seen player created characters with capes. At least 3 different ones.

Correct they have shown capes and there has been plenty of spandex shots.
My theory on these people who keep posting blatantly false things about DCUO is simple now.
They may be COH or CO fanboys who realize that DCUO is likely going play whack-a-mole with those 2 games once it gets out.

AND,
the bashers could be MMORPG traditionalists who can't stand DCUO will be a stream lined action based MMO that has a very good chance at being very successful.
Which would lead to more streamlined, action MMOs instead of traditional grinders.

Ok I honestly didn't see any of those screenshots.
@Naug I am not spreading false information. Please do point out which part of my post was spreading false information. And by the way, not that it's any of your monkey business, but I do play both games. I like them both. Yes, I will also play DCUO , it's just that I really haven't seen any pictures of player-created characters with capes or wings. As of now, CO has the best character creation. Not a bias, but it's pretty clear it's better than COH.
If I was spreading false information, I would've posted this: "ZOMG I JUST GOT WORD FROM DEVS THAT CAPES AREN'T INCLUDED IN CHARACTER CREATION ZOMG.". Clearly, I didn't.

Why is the marketing for this game fixated on NPCs? We get it - The DC characters will be in the game. That's the bare minimum that needed to be accomplished.

Was anyone's purchase really hanging by what the Lex Luthor character model looked like?

I for one, side with Blitz. I am a DC fan and all the armor characters kills the DC feel for me.

Is it just me, or is there barely any info known about this game that is supposedly coming out in 31 days?

Currently there are two shcools of thought on this, CCon99...
1) The game is far from ready to be released in 31 days. And thus likely to be pushed back to a more reasonable date. Or if they did release in 31 days, it will be an abject disaster.
2) It's getting ready for release and everything is on schedule. But due to the huge let down most felt with Champions Online with its high expectations, they're keeping everything under wraps....so that no one gets any disproportionate expectations only to be disappointed when released. That is, how can one get disappointed in something when no one knows anything about it?
Personally, the latter is certainly more desirable than the former. But I'm not exactly comfortable with it either. /sigh

Maybe its neither. Just because of "DC" in the title means they will get a lot of players and maybe they just dont want to spoil it for those people. I for one have been put off games because I dont like what I saw in the mountains of pre-release videos/information. As it is with DCUO, Im very curious about it so will be buying it whereas if I knew everything about it before playing it, I might not - its called good marketting!

I think they are going for the minimal marketing approach so as not to build up too much expectation and then not deliver on those impossibly high expectations like lots of MMO's and even single player games do, I am looking at you SPORE!!
