Wish that could happen aswell.. a bit offtopic but have you seen the new CoD price? its like 30% more expensive than normal. Anyway as said in many posts, this game is heavy fanboi-oriented. For people like me, that have only watched similar named movies, it looks totaly unatractive.

If however a game was released and thousands of collector's edition players were having enough fun that they got value for money and then some then there's no reason to ' teach them a lesson' as if this its a criminal trial

Most complaints here on massively are not from players as they are usually followed by exclamations of ' will not waste my money' or preorder cancellations.

No game is complete on release, ffxiv is due for a release day patch on the official release in a few days and great changes have been made.

It still isn't for everyone and that is ok isn't it? Why must everyone who doesn't like the game test it as a crime with that's of punishment instead of seeing it for what it really is objectively. A game with a different audience then the majority of mmo players, with different design paradigms and offers s unique experience to those who want it. No game was perfect on trade and ffxiv I'd getting lynched got something no one has gotten right by the communities perfectionist standards.

If making and releasing a game only some find entertaining instead of all people is a crime society and communities should be punishing then I missed the memo.

I'm sorry final fantasy offends some of you so much. Build a bridge, get on with your lives and find something to enjoy for a change. I know I'll be having fun in a game that I love.

oh and the maturity of being snide towards open fans of the game is shameful. I respect people who don't like the game and share their opinion, but calling out people for support of a game is ridiculous. If you think they are being immature in their defense then those that engage them show they are on the same level. Not that anyone mentioned had been anything but a positive contributor.

Just because your entitled to your opinion doesn't make it fact.

Dunno what you guys are smoking. I've been playing the game for 3 days straight and it has immersed me more than any other MMO has in the past 4 years. It took me a while to get used to the controls and interface, and I admit I gave up the first time I tried in open beta, but right now I can sit back with a controller in my hands and play for hours forgetting about the time. I love how different it is from traditional MMOs. It's very slow-paced, relaxing and enjoyable to play. Not to mention the community is one of the best. The trolls and pricks get filtered out at the beginning since they have no patience to actually learn and like the game :)

This game takes time to learn and understand. You're missing a lot of fun with a closed-minded and instant gratification attitude. Those "bugs" you moan about here aren't even significant when you play the game, it's like 1% of the wrong from 99% of the right. Apart from the lags from time to time I haven't encountered a single problem in the 50ish hours I played.

All I have to say - It's not the game, It's you. If you're not capable or patient enough to sit down and try out something new and different, keep that to yourself and stop pushing away people with horror stories who are on the fence and actually want to give the game a chance.

And before you call me a fanboy or what not: Only FF I played was 7, I was a traditional P2P MMO player like most of you. Watching people race to endgame in 5 days, discovering that there's nothing there and then reading the meltdown on forums.

I can't help but think that you are deluding yourself. In all other failed AAA mmos I've played, I had that same feeling for a few weeks "why is everyone hating on this game, I am enjoying it". Turns out, in the end, they were right... the games sucked. I'm skipping this one, because I'm sure the same thing will happen. No sense wasting my money and time on something that is not even close to being finished.

The "release and patch later" bs has to stop.

Your holier than thou attitude combined with the name calling and condescension is no better than the trolls and the fanbois you claim not to be.

Just want to clarify that the above statement is aimed at Tomi, not Scarr.

Tomi replied inpart:

" I've been playing the game for 3 days straight and it has immersed me more than any other MMO has in the past 4 years."

...um...how can you play for 72 hrs, when you are only allowed to advance yourself for 8? O.O

@Utakata The 8 hours limit is just an approximation and tied to a single profession. You'd really have to do hardcore grinding for 8 hours non-stop to reach it :) I've been exploring, chatting, grouping with friends I met on the way, leveling 6-7 professions and crafting my Lalafell butt off. They all give great physical level XP. I have yet to see any reduction at all. I know there are a lot of people who hit lvl20 already and didn't get fatigued. People are speculating that the system isn't even there right now. The game allows you to play any profession by simply changing your weapon, so it's really not a pain to switch and try out something new.

@Scarr I get what you mean, but a lot of people have the impression there's 0 content to do right now, which isn't really true. The game isn't broken and doesn't need a miracle patch. FFXIV is one thing, Mortal Online is another. This game is very polished and I'm enjoying the attention to details everywhere you look. There are a lot of new systems and mechanics which I haven't come accustomed to in other MMOs and it's quite fun to spend time just to read about them and learn how to do them yourself. There's enough to keep you busy for a good while in this game, before you feel the need for any kind of retail patch. It's better to play a game for a few months and have tons of fun, than being overly critical, dramatic and dwelling on MMO sites waiting for the perfect one which we all know won't come (atleast in a good while).

@Vrazule I provided enough facts and arguments to justify myself using insults. You haven't. Try again or shush :)

Oh okies, Tomi...I stand corrected. I thought it was per character and not per profession. Not sure I still agree with it....but my bad for getting it wrong. :(

I'm not asking for perfect, I'm asking for complete. Fit and finish.

I am definitely at the point where I'd rather wait 'forever' than spend time and money on junk.

@tomi As another person who has played to almost 20 with absolutely zero fatigue to date, thank you for your post. I'm not trying to troll, and I have no grudge against anyone in this thread but the vast majority of you simply have no idea what you're talking about.

Enjoying the game, enjoying the community. If you folks would like to call it unfinished, feel free, but it's a gem of a game if you bother to learn it.

I believe you Stoney. I just feel the game has a few issues it needs to be worked out before I give it a poke. And perhaps more polish and less bugs. Maybe in a few months, and I have nothing better to do...I may give it try. But right now, after my experience with Champions last year, I'm very weary in general of playing any "hot off the press" games...

...even ones with really cool looking cat girls and chibi Lalafell's. :)

It seems to me this exploit is already well-known since early beta, and I find it hard to believe Square-Enix had been completely ignorant of such an easy way to cheat the system. I wonder what other exploits Square-Enix will "forget" to fix until players make enough noise.

Wrong. And the person that first posted this is wrong. I played from mid to the ending of CB. During CB you got ZERO skill points from healing or buffing. I never did and the two classes I chose to level were thaum and conj.

To be honest, having played the 'game' this weekend/week I think "moving forward" would be to take the game offline and actually finish it before releasing it.

The last time I played a game that felt this bad, clumsy, unintuative and totally un-fun was APB.

Say no more.

Agreed! I got into the beta a week ago and my thoughts were, "They are gonna release this before the end of the month???". I've played many many MMOs and really wanted to love this game bc I am a FF fan, but it's too unpolished. It's too hard to figure out what to do and that's coming from an experienced player. It took me two hours to find mining pick and then set out to mine and you have to play this stupid, arbitrary minigame every time you swing. I ragequit at that point...
