The general release of Final Fantasy XIV is three days away, but the collector's edition has been out for nearly a week. As a result, early players have had the chance to start taking part in that most celebrated of ceremonies -- finding whatever exploits the programmers didn't catch and using them. The most recent exploits are at least team-oriented, as they seem to involve casting beneficial spells during a guildleve; regardless, the issues are being fixed as fast as they arrive.
FFXIVCore has also translated a recent interview with Hiromichi Tanaka in which the game's producer discusses both his role in the history of the series as well as what prior lessons impacted the armoury system in Final Fantasy XIV. As he put it, one of the reasons for the flexibility was to allow players to choose their ability loadouts based on the situation, unlike the fairly fixed roles within Final Fantasy XI. The full interview also drops some hints about the as-yet-unseen company system, something which will be implemented in a patch after the full retail launch on Thursday.

Exploits and cheats to defeat their impossible bosses seem to be the only things the team behind the online FF's know how to quickly patch.
Also, in before that guy who's name starts with an "A" going on about how haters hate on Final Fantasy XIV all the time.

CindyL maybe a big fan of the Final Fantasy IP, but rarely does she troll it, IMO. So be nice. :)

Give credit where credit is due. A bug surfaced that allowed unusually high skill gains, and they patched it within 12 hours. That's on point any way you want to spin it.

Patching unusually high skill point gains 3 days before release is 'on point'?

Funny how people think that they patched it that quickly. The truth is this exploit has been around since CB. Maybe someone finally reported it today and then they fixed it, but it wasn't 12 hours after it arrived - maybe 12 hours after people were causing an uproar about it happening. Many people used it to boost up to level 30+ within a super short time already on the lowest level monsters. Hopefully they can go over logs and eventually root those people out, but who knows.

I'm soooooo sick of seeing "will be implemented in a patch after the full retail launch". If it's something so important, why aren't they delaying the game? Just sayin....

Right. I say patch it before the rest of us spend money on it.

As long as players keep buying and flooding into buggy unfinished games....
Developers will keep releasing them.
It essentially is the players fault more than the game companies.
The players are the ones who keep essentially saying....
"thank you sir, may I have another!"

Just received the normal copies in the shop. Says: "depending on the specific combination of hardware, software and drivers installed, its possible that this software wil not run correctly even if the required or recommended specifications are met". Also pegi raiting contains keyword Sex. Japanese fans rejoice. Ima go lock this away from me now :)

I find it annoying that the people playing collectors edition are still in Beta.
"Linkshells are taking care of in-game communication, so we also need (Company's) to take care of out-of-game communication."
That's what a Company is? *Sigh* They refuse to add crafting recipes in game but they are ok with adding a Forum, SE is retarded.
"The most fun and fulfilling part of making an MMORPG is hearing feedback from the users. I love actually getting in the game and hearing whether they’re enjoying it or not. "
Really? Everyone says your game sucks and you do nothing to make it better.
Do they know that most of the music in FFXIV does not even fit with the areas?
Ul'dah has music that should be played in a Dessert Oasis, and the area outside Ul'dah has some music that should be playing in a sad part of the story.
SE should stick with making Anime because they obviously don't know how to make video games anymore.

Didnt even read your comment but I get the idea based on your other comments. You clearly have a personal vendetta against some games or are holding a grudge for some perceived injustice rendering your opinion irrelevent. Quite funny really.

I dont know much about this game or its release but from what I have read there are many bugs and its not in a condition to be released yet and the devs will patch up AFTER release!
Many people preach about "voting with your wallet" and not buying a game which is clearly rushed out to make money to "teach them a lesson" so this would be an IDEAL opportunity to do just that - if a huge game and publisher like this suffered from poor sales as a result of a large concerted effort by players to boycott it until it is ready and make a stand then it would be monumentous for not only this game but for games to come as game-makers will actually work for their revenue.
However, it wont happen and players will still jump on the bandwagon regardless of the states of the game :)
