I'll wait and see what the first expansion brings. If I don't see any radical changes than I won't be bothering with it at all.

After playing in the CB I have to say: no way I'm paying for this. I'll be waiting for SWTOR and/or TERA.

I decided to buy it for 2 reasons.

1. Yes its new and there is some issues with the open beta but most of those will be fixed with patches I'm sure. Also the Fatigue Point system is kinda cool if you use it to your advantage. I lvled on the open beta MNK and PLD and RNG and when one started not gaining XP I just switch main hand weapons to another job and Bang XP again. My Physical level stayed the same. Which at the end of my open beta I had lvl 10 MNK PLD and RNG with a Physical level of 24 on each.

2. I would rather start early then be left behind I remember when COP came out for FFXI well I did not get it for a while and also did not bother with doing it till about 6 months later well I never got sea access because everyone was done with the quests and did not want to help at all.

I'll wait until the PS3 version comes out, keeping up with the PC reviews in the meantime, until I make my final decision

As much as I was looking forward to this, after actually playing it, I'm going to have to say I will not be buying it any time soon, if ever.

I often "vote" with my money. I cannot vote for a game that should have helped take the genre to a new level, or at least maintain the current level, but failed miserably to do so, and for a development team/publisher with the resources/talent to do so and chose not to. I am really disappointed. I miss the days when I loved Final Fantasy and the games were actually fun.

I'll be buying it, but not for a couple of weeks as I'm of on hols. It'll be my first FF game, and it will hopefully keep me going until TOR.

I was a huge FFXI fan but sadly I will not be buying after experiencing the game mechanics in beta. Betwewen the fatigue system and making crafting into more of a real life job is insane. Too bad they just couldn't give us FFXI a 2010 paint job instead of giving us FFXIV.

I will NEVER play a MMO where I can freely swap between classes. I like choosing my playstyle and sticking with it from start to finish. Swapping weapons to become a different class is ridiculous.

What a stupid reason not to play. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but there's nothing stopping you from sticking to one class and play it up to max level.

But looking at your comment history you've lots of stupid reasons to avoid a large number of games, so I suppose this comment probably isn't going to change that.

Sure I could do that and then run right up against the fatigue system that forces you to change to another role to keep playing. Not to mention that pretty much half of the available professions are devoted to crafting, a part of MMOs that tend to ignore completely. I'm there to kick monster and player ass...not pick flowers. No thanks. I know what I like. Its picking one class and playing it until I master it.

As for my posting history...I can't think of one game that I've passed over completely for a feature I don't like the sound of. I tend to give props to games that I don't play for creative features and give fair reviews to games I have played.

Raze, it's okay to disagree with someone's opinion, but it's not cool to call them stupid, especially when it's a known fact that part of the reason for the fatigue system is to force players to switch class roles after 8 hours of XP gain.

Yes I will be buying the Collectors Edition today. While I don't expect the game to be perfect or even smooth at launch...there is nothing like saying you were there day one of the release and knowing how far the game grows over the next weeks, months and years.

The reality is that anyone who is buying the game (CE) is playing the game now...

First MMO since FFXI to come out that isn't a WoW Clone... how could you be a fan of the genre and NOT buy it? My opinion :)
