Pretty informative, I haven't played much pets besides the ones from gadgets. In the next content patch is supposed to have new things on pets. I most likely am going to roll a sorcery themed new char and make some retcon on other of my heroes.

I actually quit the game because Sigil of Primal Storms was so OP at my level. It wasn't fun to do nothing but drop it and watch everything I'd pulled melt.

Something relevant that I noticed being discussed on the PTS forums: They're considering doing a 2-point advantage that eliminates the Circle from these pets (the obvious tradeoff here being that if you lose the circle, you're also restricting that summon to R2, meaning you also lose the nifty R3 powers.) I haven't tried out doing a pet-oriented char yet, so I can't really comment either way on the subject.

They need to pull their heads out of their asses and get rid of the circles altogether.

Nnnh...not really. What they need to do is get the use of them back on track to what they're *supposed* to be, which is a tradeoff of strength for mobility. It's my understanding that the circle pets are supposed to be more powerful than the non-circle pets, with the need to stay in a place being the cost for that extra power. Not to mention that there's people who *like* the circle concept. It's similar to how some of the stronger powers pretty much freeze you in place while you use them, which is also a vulnerability, while some of the lower-tier ones let you move around while using them.

Your understanding is wrong. The pets are garbage and the circles are a large contributor to that. There are better powers to be had at all tiers in almost every frameset.

@Wjowski: I am not sure you read the article. Ritual pets are awesome.

In T2 PvP Arcane sorcery is a really good survivability build... throw down the END builder circle and summon the pet, when the zombies get too close put up the sigils. The Eldritch Blast does awesome damage and can often one-hit a normal zombie...

Note the 'supposed to be'--part of the reason that they 'suck' is because they *aren't* currently what they're 'supposed to be', and that's why they're being worked on. Concept vs. execution, there. As far as 'better powers to be had at all tiers', that's really a matter of opinion and more importantly, personal play style. This is one of the things I'm liking about CO--the whole 'One Perfect Build' crap mostly doesn't exist...at worst it's 'One Perfect Build For How *I* Play'. Me, I have issues with the self-healing abilities, as I can't seem to get them to perform better than crafted/bought/dropped healing items...but that's most likely because I'm using them wrong and in the hands of others who play differently, they probably work great. Similarly, it sounds like it's not necessarily that the circle pets suck, it's that they're a bad match for your personal play style and vise versa.
