So...

From their website: "Rift: Planes of Telara provides many playable races to choose from."

Two elves, three kinds of humans, and a dwarf. That's racial diversity?

Right...

Disappointing.

A bit of a lame-duck creating this racial bi-diversity that isn't actual diversity at all.

A bit too much "safety-play" going on here with the racial choices & that kind of insipidness is letting down a great title's potential.

SWTOR is going with this kind of "Safe" race choice too, at least GW 2 have the Charr but overall it seems a large industry-wide backward step has occurred, hell original Everquest had a much more diverse choice than recent offerings have had.

Of course they can all play the "future races" card but that's bunkum.

Gimme racial diversity or lose my money developers.

*shuffles off awaiting a game with much braver & more interesting race choices, while wishing he had the money to create a game with his own*

To be fair, that's a step up from the original games where the only choice was human.

I actually like this race's background. It's a little unfortunate that they happen to look like fairly generic elves. The concept art on their site looks more interesting.
