Still not a peep from Codemasters about the euro version. As the interweb grammatical lynch mob is so fond of saying, I am dissapoint.

Yes there has been news from Codemaster - we are talking about at least one week delay. They are talking about the end of the month in their latest statement.

First post.

Still no details on WHY though. Is the US version really THAT broken?

Nice write-up! I spent that first evening setting up my new UI and plugins on three characters, while also walking several kin-mates through the process over Vent. Honestly the plugins are the unsung hero of this update in my opinion... I've noticed a HUGE difference in the way I play the game ever since I got up and running with things like BuffBars and Palantir.

I'm having a blast so far. The new vault is amazing. And the dynamic layering really helps with lag. It's been great to see familiar faces return, too!

So pumped for this; just logged in to LOTRO for the first time ever this morning. What a treat! The music and ambience blew me away, and although I know this is more of a "Free to Try" than "Free to Play" gimmick...well, I really don't care.

It worked Turbine. It's a great system, and you guys are kicking ass with it.

agreed.

I'll be going VIP on the first to pay 10 a month for the game. The updates are worth it and the game is great!

I can't wait to see what's changed. I've been subbed for a month or two after returning to see how Lotro had changed since launch. The amount of content is ridiculous, talk about quest overload. It will be fun to see the new Free2Play changes when Codemasters get the changes up and running here in Europe.

You could be waiting for 20 days acording to latest news. My advice - go for the US version and let Codemasters slowly die.

BTW - I blame Turbine 100% for the delay in EU. Most likely they did it on purpose to get more ppl on the US servers. I hope Codemasters have a good legal team to fight em for every single penny that they lost.

Acording to Turbine - the F2P version was realeased because there were not complications. Well... there were - and its NOT CM fault by the looks of it.

This shows how much TURBINE cares about their gamers.

I logged on last night to check out the new lotro store and I really like it. I mainly bought some cosmetic items and I... uh... blew my free TP on them lol. :) I had a total of over 4,000 TP plus whatever extra I got from logging onto my other characters. I also took advantage of the sale that ended yesterday, 6900 TP for $49.99. I have not spent any money on Lotro since 08 when I purchased the Lifetime account so I did not mind spending some money and will probably buy more after I get paid.

I really enjoy the Skirmish at level 20, I am bringing up a Runekeeper and a Hunter so it is nice that I can now do that for a change. I will be trying out the "new" Great Barrows instance on my characters tonight and try to get the GB Leather Set for my Hunter. I wil have to get on my high level Lore-Master and fix my LI's and thank you 'Justin' for reminding me to re-trait my soldier, I did not know they reset those.

I have plenty of things to do this weekend on lotro and I am looking forward to seeing Middle Earth more populated.

Having never played the game before, I'm eager to try this one out. I've been playing around with DDO for about a month and I have no complaints about it, so I'm figuring that I'm going to have as much fun with this one.

It'll prove interesting, at the very least.

Can't connect to the US version ever since F2P started. It was fine on beta... now all I see is "A connection attempt has failed."

I tired to log on but it keeps crashing every time I launch it in Windows 7 64bit. I am heading over to the support forums.

Sadly the only thing Codemasters has EVER been consistent with regarding LOTRO is thier unpreparedness and apparent lackadaisical attitude towards how they deal with us europeans.

I had hoped a while back they were passing us back to Turbine in which case we might have got on time updates, informed of what is happening, decent support and dare I say it a MyLOTRO of our own.. but sadly no.

Maybe if it was Micro Machines Online codemasters might be a bit more enthusiastic.

it's always the same crap with CM. i play lotro since day one of the retail date, but they always keep delaying big patches. i have to say i lost count on how many times it happened already. it just seems they just refuse to put extra people on the matter when a big update hits.

and yet i cant be pissed at them, cause they seem to release many good racing games which i like very much (grid, dirt and the upcoming F1 game). seems we EU guys just have to be jealous at our US counterparts

damn them.... ;)

I suspect that rather than copy the Turbine store exactly they have tried to integrate the store into their own backend, with predictably chaotic results.

I tried every combo of letters, names, etc I can. It is borked.

I will pass on this game... and I was looking forward to trying it.

sounds to me like your using either the wrong client for your region or trying to create an account with the wrong company (turbine for US customers and codemasters for EU).

For example if you have the US LOTRO client you cannot create an account withc odemasters for it and likewise if you have the codemasters client you cannot create an account with turbine for it.

Be sure you have the right client for your region and are trying to make an account with the right company.
