Compared to the rest of us, only a lucky few get the pleasure of attending Gamescom or PAX, so NCsoft has released a video podcast to let the rest of us in on what's been talked about. Featuring several members of the Aion dev team, this podcast highlights some new features of the free expansion, Assault on Balaurea.
Touched on in the video are pets, the increased level cap, the new zones, new flight mechanics, and the new instances (including solo ones!), along with the new Twitter integration -- Right from the UI, players can now tweet, include up to ten of their favorite screenshots, and brag about their in-game exploits without ever tabbing out!
Whet your appetite for tomorrow's launch and glide past the cut to watch the podcast.

I'm curious to see how the Miragent set holds up in the world of level 55s. I'm eager to see the next generation of Fenris/Miragent-esque gear...but, alas, my eagerness is slightly overshadowed by my dread.

Well.............i wasnt going to type anything (really) and then near the end of the *cough* movie, they said a bad word....I cannot say that which is forbidden to real men.
Let me remind all real men on rule 254 of the manbook regarding Twitter and its ilk.
Page 112, rule 254. No man shall use a social networking application such as BBM, Twitter, texting, etc. If a man is caught using these applications it falls on his buddies to report this to the proper authorities so it can be dealt with. If you need to speak to a buddy then you call or you drive and talk to them face to face.
Any man not reported because, 1. His buddies also use it. 2. His buddies are afraid to confront him. 3. His girlfriend or wife tells him he must use it (this falls under the spine removal clause and is another rule entirely), then those buddies and the man shall henceforth be known as a Metrosexual, this stigma cannot be removed.
Real men dont tweet.

I liked the last part with the bullshit from Tamat about : passionate community, reading the forums and stuff. Is not Tamat the CM who refuses to even post in the last month on the forums because he got pissed off by people asking hard questions? Is not Tamat the CM who deletes any thread that asks pertinent questions fro which NCWest is to incapable to give answers ?
So much fail. Aion is already unbalanced, underpopulated, unsupported and no patch (why is called expansion something with 20% of contented of other MMOs content patches I will never understand) will save it.

Seriously, can someone in Korea just close down NCWest entirely and let ArenaNet take over Aion here in the west? Please? Those of us left playing Aion and anyone that has ever gone onto any of the forums, official or otherwise, knows what almost the entire Aion community thinks of NCWest.
The Korean devs are actually adding good things to the game in places (the Twitter garbage is not one of them), but with NCWest screwing things up at every turn I bet even more people will be leaving as the end of the 1 year sub date nears. I'm certainly giving serious thought to calling it quits. I enjoy the game, but hate the way it is being run into the ground. That video certainly pushed me towards the quitting side of things.
