"which means that you can't realistically expect people to PVP 24x7"

I pvp 23-7 and I don't buy plex or even do market manipulation. There's more then one way to play your game. If you have the skills to pay the bills then there's benefactors with deep pockets to accommodate you. Flying what you can afford is the first step. Finding the right corp/alliance for your play style is a close second.

When I played wow, it was not uncommon for good guilds to pay repair/enchanting bills for MT due to the costs associated with the role and the time requirements. Successful corps make money. In eve, your main tanks fly apocs and revaluations. Like anything else there's an upfront cost, but once you are there it's all gravy.

I'd like them to overhaul POS myself. I understand the fundamental bug in docking with a POS is in the way that EvE handles the 'location' of docked ships, sending them to a sort of 'non-node'.

Perhaps with Incarna and not staying in your ship in hanger, this can be fixed.

If they reduced the number of POS objects, into a modular system, lag could be reduced overall, as the system would be tracking the locations of fewer objects.

On frigs V battleships: those five ganged frigs work great, unless fighting a Dominix with light T2 drones, or if the BB pilot has something to bounce you off of while you auto orbit. I've found that 'rubbing' against an in space object, like a roid, will bounce the frigs, decelerating them to the point you can hit them, usually instapopping them in the process.
