@ ScottishViking

Why do ppl have to wear robes and bear swords instead of machine guns and mortars ?

Fonts are part of the game.... If not - then why do ppl have more than one font in the world..

CONSIDERING that there are whole WEBSITES creating SPECIAL fonts for LOTR - then why on EARTH does a gaming developer ignore these things for years.

Laugh all you like - but realise what the basics of UI does change the immersion of online gaming - specially when we are talking about years in terms of playing time.

I'm looking forward to the new vitality hopefully P2P will bring to the MMO, and also finally the end of a lengthy drought of any major updates - likely due to the sale of the company to Time -WB.

I also share earlier comments on the PvMP aspect of LOTRO. An area that has held a great deal of promise but for some unfortunate reason (to LOTRO's own detriment) has languished.

My only fear with the F2P is that we'll get mobbed by just the kind of people i left WoW to get away from.
You know, people who call there Chars "Pwnsnoobs" and that kind of thing.
Dweebs that keep jumping on your float when you're fishing ( dunno why that REALLY annoyed me!)
They'll leave again when Cataclysm come out, i guess, but it could be hectic for a bit.
I would also like to see PvP, not as a play style but a tournament type of area.

I am fairly new to the game but after playing for a few weeks now ( and yeah, far more chilled about my MMO experience, I agree....relaxing!) I am totally hooked.
Will keep subscribing even after the F2P kicks in.

Finally feel like I have found a game that's been made for me :)

I am rolling my Dwarf RK on the "Crickets" server as soon as I can on the 8th. It's going to be great to finally get over this WoW addiction I have had to the game for so long.

Cata holds nothing of interest for me so I had been eyeing Lotro as a return for some time now, and seeing how I can next week and save a little cash...even better.

If you enjoy role-playing, come to Landroval -- if you can get on. I know there are lineups to get on at the moment, and that may still be true at release. But give it a shot -- it's the best MMO server I've ever played on!

I'm sure Landroval is great and all that - but hey, I've heard the other servers are not that bad either.

I have a lifetime sub to Lotro, but have been on a long break from the game. I look forward to returning soon, and hopefully catching up with old friends in Middle Earth, and welcome the newcomers.

The things I think that make the game great are the community (one of the best there is), the beautiful and immersive villages and landscapes, the writing (of course), and the great newbie experience (makes me want to start a new character again to revisit the starting zones, particularly the Shire).
