Nexon's free-to-play fantasy epic Vindictus continues to turn heads both in the industry and in fan circles. This time, the culprit is a newly released video showcasing the ability to summon and control a golem while playing as the Evie character. Once you've learned the correct skill, you can make use of a summoning gem to create the construct, and the golem's spirit will use nearby environment objects to define its physical form.
You heard right: the golem will take on a unique appearance each time it is summoned, though there are restrictions on how often the creature may be called. Currently, Evie can only carry one summoning stone per dungeon instance, and the stone can only be used once, which of course means one golem per dungeon.
Check out the video after the cut.

The unique form of the golem is pretty damn cool. I can't wait to check this game out.

May I be the first to say SQUEEEeeeEEeEeeeEEee!1!1!!1!!!
I can't wait to check this game out, Thankfully I still have my backup plan (that is GW2) in case this game somehow goes horribly horribly wrong (mismanagement, horrible patches, Insane CS prices) but I hold out great hope that this will simply be shamelessly awesome!

This game and Dragon's Nest from Nexon is what I see myself enjoying immensely.. Of course, like Mabinogi, there will be a cash shop to sustain these interesting titles. And that's fine with me.

It does look awesome but the sting of Allods' mismanagement dampens my expectations and makes me want to stick to AAA titles that are now offering F2P instead. I suppose it can't hurt to try it but I won't be wasting time in BETA to find out the CS is going to screw me over after launch.

Yeah I sorta gave up on CB myself, never used to mind running around helping track down bugs .... until the last time I got stabbed in the back. Et tu, Allods?
Polly jump in OB not sure tho if early OB or later in OB tho. Not sure if I really feel like dealing with the Tourists (then again depending on how it turns out I myself might end up being a simple tourist)

lol @ triple AAA titles going f2p have a cash shop too that charges you to access pve content among other stuff, now I have never really played Allods only tried for a couple of days but the other f2p games I play do not charge you to play the content of the game only for cosmetic items,crafting/upgrade items and xp stuff and potions.I find it interesting how some think this triple A f2p title is going to be the holy grail of f2p.

Love how the golem uses the environment to form itself. Though I have a feeling from playing the closed beta that this game will be highly cash shop dependent which I think anybody can agree with is a huge negative.

Yeah I'm really getting tired of the direction CSs are headed in ..... to the point where a single purchase is starting to rival the cost of buying a full other game. I realize they need money to continue operations ..... but half the time poor CS decisions are what drive their paying players away.

The problem is, as much as I hate cash shops and micro transactions....that is the future for MMOs. Apparently game studios love nickle and diming you so much that in the next 10-20 years EVERYBODY will be doing it. Sure it takes more money out of our pockets but it puts a lot more into their pockets and gives them more motivation to put out new content. Even EQII is going the f2p way but if you want more you have to buy it.

I like how the tech to turn scenery objects into golem parts was utilized in the animal attack at the end. When the bear bit that guy, I was like, "dang, HE won't be in the expansion!" I wouldn't mind seeing more of that kind of dynamic combat animation in MMOs in the future.

This game looks so good, it's a shame that it's F2P. I hate nickel-and-dime-fests. The only micromanagement you should be doing in an MMO should be in game, not with your bank account.

@_@ That looks... completely epic. I've been trying not to follow this game too closely since I know it's still quite a ways off, but WOW.

This is the first game that I can think of that was Jew magic in it.

While it's pretty fun, like most hack/slash games it gets boring pretty quickly. :(

It saddens me that it seems that the people who originally wouldn't touch F2P games because they were quite frankly crap (I'm looking at you silk road and your 9000+ clones). Now won't touch F2P games even tho they can now hold their own with respect to content and quality vs most retail games because they seem intent to create game mechanics and CS schemes to bleed players dry.
I truly hope vendictus will break that mold and replace it not with blind fanbois but earned customer respect and rightful loyalty.
