Seeing as it would still take up space on my hard drive, it's still not worth it.

Everytime I play CO for free I just go and renew my CoH sub.

I don't understand all the negative comments. I just started playing the game about a month ago and am loving it. I played WoW and FFXI before.. and this game is just such a nice, refreshing and dynamic change from those two.

The negative comments here are the same as for any MMO. It seems that there is a thin line between love and hate for an MMO, and once someone crosses that line, they want to pull everyone they can across it.

Just my observation...

I'll probably go back and give it a run. If they improved the rubberbanding that has been an ever-present problem, even 6-7 months after launch, it could be fun. The new game packs look semi interesting also, though I think only one has launched for the game, and the other is incoming.

Ditto when it goes free to play for good I'll take a second look . I got it for 1.99 so it cost me next to nothing to buy played for a week but realised the game was lacking so did'nt go any further with it . Too much of a pain to reinstall it for one week only .

I tried to like this game during beta, I really did, but gameplay was not good enough, everything good from COH (easy teaming, social interactions, really epic battles and task forces) was missing and the button mashing combat grew boring after lvl 14 or so.

Then all those PR disasters, like limited life time subs, lack of content, very "cheap" power choice mechanics, retcons, cash shop prices, etc.. did not really help to like this game either. In the end this game had so much unfulfilled potential that it just pissed many gamers off when if failed to deliver on "FUN" factor that everyone expected.

How come even after so many years COH can still be fun, while CO gets stale and done after 1 month?

I think most of you haven't played CO beyond launch and still are stuck with how it was on the launch patch, sorry the game has evolved and it looks good, stay in your opinions without trying a product that has evolved, but don't try to pretend you know how the game is now.

Don't know how the game is now?

How about the same as it was a year ago: a boring, unbalanced buggy mess where only a handful of powers matter, laughable PvP and largely empty instances and nothing but the grind to replace the "endgame"?

Still haven't touched Mandragalore and Anderith I see, even a year later 2 of the 4 endgame instances are broken.

Still no 10-30 content worth playing.

Still no PvP.

You can grind Serpent Lantern for equipment that makes everything else in the game trivial and worthless, I see.

Game will go FTP by the end of the year.

I had never played Champions Online before. I figured the free week would be a good time to install the game and give it a whirl. I honestly had more fun in the character creator than I did in the actual game. I lasted five little missions in the tutorial before exiting and uninstalling it off my computer. The camera was what drove me over the edge.

I have to admit that not having a fixed over-the-shoulder camera view is extremely frustrating. I spent at least an hour in the settings menu just trying to tweak the camera. Trying to find help on the issue was upsetting as well. Granted, the official forums of a majority of games are filled with the average mix of fanboys and trolls. However, every post I could find that addressed the camera issue or of a player asking for help was shot down. Other posters chided the OPs for being noobs or for being upset over a 'non-issue'. How is a game supposed to grow and improve if it's own community denies and buries
player concerns?

Someone might say that I didn't give the game enough time and for those who do enjoy CO, kudos to you, but my first few minutes of playtime were enough for me to look elsewhere.

I honestly am confused about your camera issues, since 3rd person fixed over the shoulder is what CO camera is.
