How much of a game can you experience in a week? Do you think you could hit the level cap? Could you make a full army of alts? Could you make friends and have a reason to keep playing? As part of its anniversary celebration, Champions Online is inviting players to see what they can do with a week of unfettered access to the game. From September 1st to the 7th, anyone can register and play the game completely free, whether or not the player has purchased the game in the past.
All that players have to do to take part is sign up on the official page, which means registering an account if you haven't done so previously. Then, for the whole of that week, you'll be able to access everything in the game as if you were a normal subscriber. To sweeten the deal for existing players, there will also be a promotion running in the C-Store, with nearly everything at a 20% discount. It's hard to say no to a free week of a game, so if your interest is piqued, sign up for a free week's worth of Champions Online now.

I'll pass, took it off of my PC long ago and it's not worth putting back on.

Free? For Champions Online, that would still mean paying too much.

The game as long as PvE is concerned looks great (never really cared for PvP, can't comment) in my opinion worth taking a look.

I'm in, the price is right and I'm sure I can get a week's worth of fun out of it.

Do they really think this is going to get them more permanent subscribers? You need to actually make your game, well, worth keeping on your drive in order to do that.
But, free week, good for those who want to try it at least.

Cryptic needs to just switch to a free-to-play model, I'm sure they'd do fine with their cash shop and it's just the right price for their games.

It is so weird, you would think that with 7 free days of game play who could pass up on it. But I am finding myself in the position of not actually caring enough about this game to even sign up for a free week of game play. Altho this might have something to do with playing in the beta until about a month into the when the game had gone live and watching what a train wreck it was. It is really true what they say, first impression lasts.

See, if they did? That would be about the point that I'd feel they were a decent value and I'd probably start playing.

The last time they tried this didn't it fail miserably? Or was that CoH/CoV? I forget. Maybe both. Going to give it a try though. A week is pretty cool.

16 character slots and Recons taking out the C-store, or it's not worth my time to re-install CO that I blew from my hd back in last December.
