They haven't confirmed anything about PVP in any way yet. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the answer is yes.

Regardless, they've said that leveling to max won't take much longer than in the original, iirc. No need to worry about a Final Fantasy type grind before you can get into the pvp.

You can make a character, and then enter the Structured PvP (though we don't yet know how, we know it will be quick)

When in the Structured PvP, you are automatically set to the maximum level and all of the skills and items and what not are unlocked, so there is no longer a time barrier between competitive players.

A very sweet article that was way too short, IMO. :(

I can do Pay to Play and MTS combo. Paying for the client and any expansions and having an MTS store is fine by me.

I also like the comment on the release date:

"I promise you that the release date you have seen is not correct".

Its always fun to see retailers get blasted by the gamemaker.

Rubi,

Answering 'neither' on the payment method is too confusing. Just answer No for subscription, buy the game and play. The item shop shouldn't even be mentioned. It serves no purpose to 'warn' players of fluff items.

The more succinct we are in the answers the less confusion we all have to deal with.

Oh and thanks for reminding veteran GW players to show compassion for the trivial questions that have been answered hundred times before. Fact of the matter is some questions never go away, and often times those appear to be trivial to those in the know.

I think its a good thing those questions are repeated so many times.

Shows there is interest in the game from new players and it keeps the fora busy.

Sounds silly, but I think those are important pre launch factors.
They set the stage for future community interaction.

It's not confusing, it's not subscription because there's no monthly fee and it's not F2P as you initially have to pay for your account.

They've broken with so many Guild Wars 1 conventions already, and commented that while the games share some philosophical similarities, they will be separate games.

Looking to Guild Wars 1 to see how things will be in Guild Wars 2 has very little value, I'd say.
