NHN USA, or ijji.com, has been the company responsible for publishing Huxley: The Dystopia internationally, but the people in charge have announced that they're passing it back to developer Webzen.
Webzen will be self-publishing Huxley, but it's not as much of a change at it might seem at first glance. NHN USA and Webzen are separate divisions of the same company, NHN Corporation, and the two divisions will continue partnering with one another to publish other projects.
If you've purchased G Coin Cards, don't worry about losing out: "G Coin Cards branded with Huxley imaging will remain valid as long as they're purchased through an authorized retailer."
NHN USA's official statement will appear on ijji.com today.

I was excited for this game, about four years ago.

I worked on early drafts of the English translations for in-game and manuals. About three years ago. I remember seeing Hux on BetaWatch many many months ago, and then... where the hell has it been, and when the hell are we going to get to play it?

When I used to play Planetside my whole Outfit and I were really excited about Huxley and everything we heard about it - but the publishers have really dropped the ball on this one - most of us assumed it had gone under and had become just vapourware about 2 years ago.
Just not enough info being released about Huxley, and this publisher confusion now is just death to its reputation in an already crowded market - I doubt (m)any of us will touch Huxley with a bargepole now - doesn't sound like the publishers have much faith in it to treat it so shoddily, to basically stop marketing it for the last 2 years.
Also what sounded revolutionary and exciting 3-4 years ago just sounds a bit dated now - most of my Outfit are now off playing Global Agenda, non-MMO shooters like the Call of Duty series, Battlefield series or Borderlands, or off on consoles playing stuff like MAG, or waiting for DUST 514 - Huxley has missed its chance - also most of us are looking ahead to Planetside 2 now (and hoping SOE learnt from their mistakes with the first game - some hope!) and I doubt we're the only ones.
Huxley could have inherited what MMOFPS fans there were out there (especially the tens of thousands of ex-Planetside players that SOE drove away with their terrible management and shoddy expansion) - we're all just waiting for a shooter that can give us that feeling of persistence, of an ongoing global war, that Planetside had.
Whoever Huxley's publisher is they've really blown it in the West.

Eh, last chance I had to play it, I wasn't all that impressed, somehow between the Game Informer/Pro/Electronic Gaming Monthly (can't remember which) article I read about this game several years ago that sounded kick-ass, to the point where I played a bit of the beta a year or 2 ago, something changed, and it certainly wasn't who was publishing the game.

Huxley should be the dictionary definition of vapourware. At this point with so many years of seemingly-endless delays I'm not convinced it will ever come out at all.
A lot of people, myself included, hoped that it would fill the gap left by PlanetSide and would be a de facto PlanetSide 2, but to do that you would actually have to *release the game*.
When I played the beta a year or so ago I actually quite enjoyed it. I didn't get to play as much as I wanted but it seemed like it had promise. Since then the silence has been deafening, both on the public and private Huxley ijji forums (where i still have access).
You probably have a better chance of seeing PlanetSide Next released before Huxley.

Well the game went into closed beta in korea on the Hangame site in July 2010 and open beta in August and from what I could gather from poster's on the ijji Huxley forum that were able to get accounts to play it(you need a kssn to make a account on hangame) and communicate with players was that the koream player base was very low for it(something about them not being into fps games much) so it wasnt doing too well financially there.Which I guess brought doubts to if and when NHN would even try to pursue releasing it west.So I guess this new development could be good or bad depending on whether it was IJJI dragging its feet about it(they didnt seem to have much forum interaction or support for the Huxley forums as they did their other games)in that case a new publisher might step up the pace or the former(no funds) and in that case we probably never see it or at least not for awhile.

I played some beta last november i think, and was really looking forward to a shooter with a persistent world and a little crafting, marketplace. All the little mmo trimmings. Still hard to really call it an mmo from what i played, but i guess it'll be similar to Global Agenda (which might be the reason Huxley went poof for a while)
I'll definitely play it again if it comes out, or goes closed/open beta again, but i'm not gonna hold my breath =P
