Well I play CO but I don’t play PvP so my hero’s never beat up on other heroes. In CO you have Hero Games, I suppose the thin pretext of an Olympic style competition as an excuse for hero vs hero combat. It would seem though that what CO lacks is playable villains, villains who can play vs heroes on proper maps with some serious goal in mind. Not like was done in CoX where pvp was nonexistent and meaningless. If Co had persistant maps with sections of territory that could be taken and held by heroes/villains it would certainly add a huge element to the game and give it some much needed depth.

My first encounter with actual roleplaying was............unique. I was younger.....than i am now, and less wise. My friends and i went to a couples house to partake of some simple D&D or so i thought, in which we act as ourselves with only the DM really acting weird...(blink?). So we have a great dinner and clear the table and the gaming goods are brought out and setup............and the hosts leave the room to do.....stuff.

They return in.......well, reality bent a bit at that moment as i began to feel very, very uncomfortable, the host, usally 6 foot tall or so now looked about 4 feet tall, on his knees, though he wouldnt say that while he was in character, in a very well made costume, a mage or something if i remember.

The wife was an archer, in scanty dark brown leather, and no she wasnt in that great of shape, not bad, but nothing even a couple six packs would change. Apparently i was the outsider as everyone was joking and having a grand time except the "couple" ever staying in character through all the.........(shiver) festivities.

As the night wore on i became ever more anxious, i witnessed their cat, walking on its hind legs behind the mage (they had it trained). I was at the fight or flee stage of fear at that time, and looking for an escape. I never found one, instead i hid in that happy place, in my own head.

The world of true roleplying is not for me, and was proven that night, and has haunted me in my dreams ever since.........I still remember staring at the cat, standing on its hind legs, staring at me, as the mage, ever in character, palmed my skull, telling me my brainpan was abnormally small for a human.

(grin) true story.

I think you may be mistaking an occult circus's house of horrors for a roleplaying group.

Just sayin'

This reminds me of my yahoo anime-chatroom days, back in '96, where roleplay text fights was the rave of the period :D I was 13, and my command of the english language was horrible (i would argue still is)! ahhhh embarrassing, yet awesome times :)

Wow, so CO has devolved into a furry chat server.

Glad I got out last year.

Sad.
