You've felt it -- the tingle of anticipation, the twitch of desire, the color of pink. And now, after years of waiting, it's finally here: Hello Kitty Online has officially launched across North American and Europe. While the game's been widely available for some time now, Sanrio Digital considers today to be the first of many glorious days of cats and their peppy greetings. It's a double celebration of sorts, considering that this is Sanrio's 50th anniversary.
While you and your family can download Hello Kitty Online for free, Sanrio hopes that you'll go the extra distance and head out to a retailer to pick up the premium edition of this kid-friendly MMO. Hello Kitty Online Premium Edition includes a grab-bag of treats, such as $15 in Sanrio points for item shop purchases, an exclusive pet, the game manual, and postcards.
The MMO is tied in with SanrioTown, the company's official Hello Kitty social network, which provides fans with tools to share their love of this world. Obviously, Sanrio is hoping that the worldwide Hello Kitty phenomenon will propel this F2P title to success. You can check out HKO for yourself at the official site.

Don't deny how you feel inside. Let your inner pink out. I don't mean that literally so don't go around trying to turn yourself inside out. That's only cool at certain times and places, like a PTA meeting or at the public baths.

OMG OMG, now the advice of all those knowledgeable WoW forum nerds who keep telling me to go play Hello Kitty Online can be realised. Sqeeeeee!
I shall make a toon called Biebs14 and get him into some dungeons fast for all that epic loot they said I would get so easy!
I wonder what the gearscore of a fluffy pink backpack is?

So I actually for a minute thought about getting this for my daughter to play, I thought she loves hello kitty, sounds great. I was thinking I ll check out the community and see what they're saying. In the community forums, under Meet the Players there is a Real Life Pix thread, the 1st 2 pics say it all. Needless to say I will not be letting my daughter play this game. I dont understand their thinking on this.

On the first page of pics is a middle-aged white guy with a five-o'-clock shadow and two enormous black guys, one of whom is embracing a giant stuffed Hello Kitty about half of his size.
That's all you need to know.

The game looks well made and I would even like to try it, but something makes me feel like a complete and total pervert at the thought of logging on to a world filled with kids like Butters and dancing pink haired girls when I don't have kids of my own.
