ArenaNet scheduled quite a few hands-on sessions for Guild Wars 2 at Gamescom this week, and the first reports are beginning to show up from those lucky enough to get playtime on the first day.
IGN has an overview posted with plenty of exciting new details on character creation, events, weapons, and much more. The demo included quite a few events that the writer stumbled across and a battle with an "enormous, purple, glowing dragon," presumably an unrecognized Shatterer. If you've not seen the write-up yet, it's definitely worth your time.
While you're at it, pay a visit to the ArenaNet blog as well. The crew back in Seattle is keeping busy, and there is a new blog entry with a video entitled "Creating Guild Wars 2 cinematics."
Finally, don't forget to watch for Massively's recap of the Gamescom events on Monday!

In the IGN article the writer mentioned some Dynamic Events such as saving a Farmer's field from rabbits and watermelon then being available, or killing a broodmother and the fishermen being able to get back to work.
Now as to just be clear, these events are NOT an example of quests repeatable by every player that follows behind this guy in the next five minutes or of phasing in the world. but when the next player comes along he'll also be able to access the resources the writer had unlocked. And until the events cycle back around, either naturally or by another player's doing, these events won't be repeated (or taken in a completely different direction)?

I really hope this game will be as fun as it sounds. If they have great short story development mixed in with diverse design in the environments, I can definitely see a new gaming addiction happening.
Thanks for the update, and keep em coming, GW2!

I really like the animated parallax effect with great looking concept art. Kudos to ArenaNet for having such great talent.

Its just so funny how a couple of years ago this game was at the bottom of the list on the top awaited MMORPG ladder. Now everyone is going gaga over it! I guess thats how it goes in the world of MMO's!
