I remember so many days spent in DAoC. Mostly running around the (old) Albion frontier. Sieging and defending keeps was awesome, but the community on Guinevere was incredible, and something I've yet to see matched in the almost ten years since DAoC was first released.

I don't play DAoC now, but if it went to a F2P style like LOTRO... I'd definitely have to go take a look at it again.

I still think Minstrel is the best class in any MMO ever.

I've recently reinstalled with 10 free days and moved my characters over to the new (and only) server cluster - ywain. It seems to be going pretty strong. The population is actually similar to when I was playing in the heyday (except only 1 server instead of like 30)... Not sure if I'll start paying to keep my account active though. The UI is so dated. (delving items and lack of tooltips etc).

DAoC 2 pls Mythic k thnx.

Hello Massively, this is Cameron H. and I'm glad to see my post nestled in with all the others who shared their love for this epic game. Having only 100 words to work with made it difficult though, heh.

There are so many wonderful things to say about the rolling hills of Albion, glowing trees of Hibernia and, of course, jagged peaks of Midgard. Aside from being spoiled by the intensity of RvR, it was the RP dedication and atmosphere of my beloved server, Nimue, which truly pulled me into the universe.

DAoC is a game which felt like it gave me an old leather-bound book with my name elegantly scrawled on the cover, opened it to reveal blank parchment and handed me a large cockatrice feather quill while saying, "This is where your story begins." Gladly following this advice, I gripped the book full of endless pages closely to my chest as I took my first steps into the great city of Camelot. Astounded, not only by the massive city, but by the denizens of this world all carrying their own leather tomes. Chattering voices and scratching quills created a strange harmony which caught me in its rhythm and I realized that we all had our own small, yet important, part in this world. My jaw could only drop from astonishment at thinking of how all these stories combined into one massive tome that we lovingly titled the "Dark Age of Camelot."
