@ Joshua Przygocki

Didn't you know it's official Gameplay Trailer Day, established by the ESRB in 1997? Come on, man. Get with the times. ;)

Sorry Peter... I'm sorry I disappointed you. I'll try to be more "in the know" next time.

Looking forward to this game. But one thing struck me.. the characters they've shown look "similar". I mean, they look a little too distinct from the likes of Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, etc. I haven't seen a player-created character that wears a cape or is in a tight jumpsuit. Don't get me wrong, they look nice, but they don't look like a super hero or a super villain. I hope this is just a very small slice of what the DCUO's character creation system offers. Honestly, I'm sick of shoulder pads with spikes on them.

I could be wrong though. That's just my 2 cents.

Hmmm thats the first gameplay trailer I have seen, I find it a little graphicly disapointing. But at least they are showing what it will actually look like, but it certainly isnt a cut above the rest, looks like more of the same.

The graphics look nice. But is the game play and personalization there? There appears to be a good deal of avatar customization yes (as there absolutely should be in 2010), but is it just appearances or will my character actually be at individual? Curious to see.

I thought the graphics looked average at best. Clearly aiming at capturning the low end and mid range mmo market as usual. Not as impressive as i had hoped for a new game.

Hopefully the character creation remains streamlined enough not to be an overly complex hassle.

I'm going to be a special kind of pissed if this game sucks.

Looks like a click-fest. Too much action and no time for strategy. I'll pass.

Looks fun! I'll play! Very console-ish action, right up my alley. A nice fit for the PS3 crowd too.

Looks decent. I want to try the beta before I decide on anything. I hope they don't make major changes after a beta though. I'm looking at you CO.

Dunno, looks like CO. If I wanted to play CO or CoH, Id, like.. play those games instead.

That's pretty much my conclusion. Not exactly *looks*, as I think the DCUO art direction and style is far superior to CO's; however, the gameplay seems to have about as much depth**. Kind of an actiony slugfest which I can get out of the aforementioned games. The lack of focus on anything else in the game besides brawling with powers and throwing heavy objects has me a little disappointed. It will get my vote for best game involving jumping off of tall structures, though.

Maybe I'm showing my age when quick cuts and flashy powers don't do it for me any more...or maybe it's just pure ennui with the genre. *wanders off in search of Guild Wars 2 videos*

** for those wanting me to define depth: roleplaying stats, character creation, anything to differentiate yourself from someone with the same powers besides your look (see: origins), crafting, base building, resource management, inventory, phat lewt, interaction with PCs/NPCs/environment that doesn't involve punching or shooting them (saving people, putting out fires), giant somethings that terrorize the city, a sense of discovery vs. theme park style, etc....and no, a console game doesn't have to be dumbed down (see: http://www.undeadlabs.com postings on what they hope to have in their game)

Im a bit disappointed with the graphics for this game judging by this trailer (as I need a good looking game for me to enjoy it) but will maybe give it a try despite my fury at them offering preorder bonuses to everyone except the UK!
