Now I'm laughing at nothing! Whoo. So yeah, this is uncomfortable. On-topic: one of my friends was a big fan of CoH but quit due to boredom and drama. I see this bringing him back.

I wish i could try out the new beginning zone or try out the new
powersets but I cant because all my free character slots are
"unavailable" right now. I had two slots free but the game wont let me
use them.
I even made the mistake of deleting a character with a name i reserved
for GR. And guess what? As soon as i deleted the character, the slot
became "unavailable" and I cant remake the character and now someone else might take the name.
So then I thought that I could transfer characters to free up slots and I was going to take advantage of the free server transfer offer which is supposed to start
today....but the server transfers are also is not available.
Hope they get this fixed soon.

After reading the article I started thinking about Sarah Palin as a super hero, She would be like, flying around in a sexy milf costume fighting liberals and shooting deer and stuff

I have to say, I am happy that CoH is doing so well to evolve their game. I'm guessing this expansion will pull many of the CO holdouts to CoH which is a far superior game... and its older than WoW!

Best of all, the new missions don't involve that warehouse map!

Well.....some of them do. The new missions are great, but you still encounter office and warehouse maps. But they do have a new shiny look.

I semi-ditto your comment, replacing "warehouse" with "cave" ^_^

Yeah, about that? Actually? Yeah, they do.

Praetorian offices are nice looking redresses of Paragon City and Rogue Isles offices. Praetorian labs look nothing like Paragon City and Rogue Isles labs. Praetorian subway tunnels look nothing like Paragon City and Rogue Isles sewers, and are a vast improvement. But the warehouses are exactly the same warehouses you saw in Paragon City, the exact same ones. So far, no caves, though.

Did they also do an engine upgrade for this game? I have never tried COH. I am going to give this game a try.

They did an optional graphics engine upgraded for issue 17, you may have heard of it ("Ultra Mode"). No gameplay engine upgrade, other than the new storyline tech.

There are alot of Sarah Palin superheroines in COH, its a pretty common theme. I even knew a married couple that had G.Bush and S.Palin as a superteam. I admit to having played CoH on and off for four years or so. I've got quite a few toons on many servers and I think i'm gonna come back and play GR. I'm sure my Ice controller misses me. Thanks for the update, its made me decide to re-unite with an old friend.

As a 3 account holder in CoH, and beta Tester for GR; I can say this is a nice addition. Lateris, This is a perfect time to jump in and try this game. If ya need more info on the game, try Paragon Wiki.

The new zone looks amazing. Just getting into it right now.

Sadly, they decided to re-skin some old maps and use them as mission maps. Beyond pathetic, really. A whole new expansion/reboot and we are subjected to the same old stupidity.

I hate to say but there are way too many zones in this game. The player base will thing out and there will be many an empty zone once again.

Good looking zone but thin on unique content and recycling too much. Same old mistakes. They might wake up when the players start leaving again.

After playing the Going Rogue beta, and having my birthday yesterday, I went from a COH monthly subscriber to an annual. Take that as you will ;)

@Tempes Magus [comment 16]: As far as players leaving CoH for reasons unrelated, I wanted to add this tidbit. A friend of mine recently stopped playing, simply because he didn't have the funds to continue [he's a huge fan of the game]. NCSoft sent him an email announcing Going Rogue, and because he'd filled out a survey on why he canceled his subscription, they knew it was for financial reasons. As such they gave him a free 30-day subscription, and a temporary jet pack, just because Going Rogue was launching soon.

Other games probably do this as well, I dunno. But I was very impressed. He sent an email to them thanking them.

On-topic: My favorite thing with GR is subtle. When talking to the tutorial contacts [not sure if it changes out in the world; haven't noticed it] I got extra dialogue-branches depending on my origin. I could talk with the Clockwork in Clockwork-speak since I was Technology. Nothing big, but just one of the extra things CoH has brought to the table.

Still waiting for my preorder from Gamestop to get in, but I'm definitely going to try out Kinetic Melee. Looks like a good combo with Willpower.

I play City of Heroes with a group of friends that form a supergroup. Unless we all want to take our heroes and go to the villain side, there's nothing for us to do with our existing characters.

Unfortunately I had assumed that they'd release new content for max level characters.

Making a new character was fun, and so far levels 1 - 9 have been a blast in Praetoria, but that's not why I play CoH.

They delayed the 'end game' feature probably till Issue 19. And then Positron announced that the entire feature would be handed out over 'several' issues. That means probably a year from now we'll have a completed end game feature.

I hope they're able to deliver with some end game content and aren't too busy with City of Heroes 2. I know most of my City of Heroes super group is getting ready to order DC Universe Online.
