Nexon has been putting quite a bit of effort into growth and expansion these days, and the newfound variety of games is a testament to that.
What is the goal behind all this work, though? What does Nexon see in the future? Vice President Min Kim recently spent some time chatting with Worlds In Motion about these and other subjects that affect Nexon. He discussed Nexon's planned amount of growth (a lot), the company's thoughts on expanding into the Western market, and the target audience for Nexon games.
Kim also spent a fair amount of time on the subject of the free-to-play market: Where it's been, where it's going, and how much room there is for more free-to-play games. The full interview can be found on Worlds In Motion.

Boo! Region blocked!

It's unfortunate that I found out Mabinogi is not available for my region after I downloaded the game client. Mabinogi Heroes (or Vindictus) being a US only closed beta does not bode well too.
Oh well, it's your loss, Nexon. Some other MMO will be pleased to accept my money, I'm sure.

the cash shop isn't open in the beta anyway, so it's not like you'd be spending anything if your region had been included. besides, the game launches from your browser, so i'm sure if you really wanted to play you could find yourself a US proxy.
not that i'm recommending it, i'm just saying...

You can't spend money if the cash shop isn't open. Wow, I need more cookies of wisdom like this. No, I can't possibly be referring to the possibility that Mabinogi Heroes retains the ip block when it finally goes retail ... just like Mabinogi! /big shock!
Yes, it's a wonderful idea to sneak through the ip block by going through a proxy. Until I need support from Nexon and they find out I'm not supposed to be playing there. Oops!
