Offering X-packs at very discounted prices is typically the only thing that will maybe bring me back. Normally no matter how much I wonder if I could get back into it the price of the expansions normally shoot that one down for me.

I don't think anything could really bring me back to SWG. I've said that before, though, and gone back just to see old friends.

Free Realms pulls me back once in a while, mostly when my kids ask about it.

Seconded. The most frequent reason I leave an MMO and go back to WoW is that I don't have any friends playing CO, STO, CoH, GW, DDO, WAR, etc, etc, etc... All of which I really enjoyed. But all my best friends are in World of Warcraft and I can't seem to pull them away. Not that I don't enjoy WoW, mind you.

I'm an easy sell; I usually go back to most titles I've played in the past because of xpacs, friends talking about it, a slight westerly breeze, etc.

I think more people SHOULD revisit old games more often. A lot of things change, and I know that _I_ have been surprised by some of the things that have gone on while I was away that have made a game better (even slightly better is better then no betterment at all).

I try to live my life like a feta phenomenon, just like Tool suggests in Lateralus.

So nothing.

A free week or weekend will sometimes work, maybe an expansion or a friend picking it up. There are games I will never revisit though... but no one wants to hear about that ;)

I think for me its time management... if I find myself just not spending enough time playing (like in the summer when I work and I'm heading to the beach, the casinos, or going out with friends multiple nights a week, and I'd only have 1 or 2 nights a week at most to play) then I'm not getting my money's worth, I'll unsub.
New features, new shinies, sparkly widgits, or whatever won't bring me back, storyline, community, and if I liked the game the first time around will bring me back (of course, I am willing to give games a second shot even if I didn't really like it). However, it will be when I finally have enough time to play it again to justify the sub.

An indication that the game in question is really going out of its way to introduce something new to that particular game (player housing if it doesn't have it, for example.)

If it looks like just more of the same, why would I want to go back and waste more money on something that'll lose my interest in a few days time?

Friends have got me to come back to some of my old old MMOs that i played 4-5yrs ago, but usually within a week I realized why I quit and then go back into hiding or playing WoW.

If blizz blocked crappy addons like gearscore I would probably go back to playing wow, and you are thinking just ignore those types, well kinda hard to when the majority focuses on it.

I left WAR because the server was dead.

Guarantee me a good population, and I'll sub like mad.

The only thing that would drag me back to play Everquest again would be a classic server with exactly the same players on it like they were in the beginning.
The downside would be that I'm not sure if I could take the grinding again ...

At this point, I do not think there is much that would bring me back to Everquest 2. SoE doesn't seem to have any idea how to make the game fun anymore. Too many server problems as of late (For a game as old as EQ2, there should be no reason its having as many server issues as it does these days, most of which are NEW...) Plus at this point, I have a pretty serious lack of faith that they will handle Velious very well.

But the real big annoyance point for me is just simply the lack of enough players looking for instance groups. I play a raid geared Warden who can solo almost every group instance... and yet still have trouble finding groups.

Plus, Timetraveling is no longer with the company... who was one of the very few people I still had faith in.

About the closest I might come to resubbing might be Everquest Next, but at this point I've lost too much faith in SoE.

On the other hand, I've recently (last 3-4 months) resubbed to EVE and WoW and have been having a lot of fun with both. Not sure how much longer I will be playing WoW, but having a total blast in EVE!

Turn Rage into a decent user resource not based on anything random. Make it like energy or mana.

In the last few months there have been MANY posts by Ghostcrawler on Rage, how hard it is to tweak so that it doesn't scale badly with gear, how tricky is is to make sure you have enough, but not too much how awkward is it to put in skills to "bleed off" excess rage, all the while admitting Rage is not working how they want it too.

Stop beating around the bush and devoting time to solving a problem that just needs to be SOLVED once and for all. Make "rage" regen at a set rate, regardless of your gear, how often you hit or what ever. It's what they are trying to do in a round about way anyhow. If their tweaks worked right, it'd regen at the same rate in greens as in end gear.

Until rage works reliably the same ALL the time... you cannot balance costs and output (damage).

I know, i know, there are people who don't want to see a red energy bar, but if blizzard gets their tweaks right, that is EXACTLY what it will be. It must be. Just skip all the useless stuff in between and make it regen at a set rate. Have it start at 25 if you like, jut keep the regen set.

So tired of reading the excuses from GC and the Devs on why certain things have to be tweaked like they are because of rage generation, and yet still not being able to get rage generation from being too low in greens to too high in high end gear. Set it to be the same and take that problem out of the equation, then you can REALLY tweak the Warrior and Bears to keep up with other tanks in damage output.

I wont be returning to WoW ever until rage is a viable resource, which for me means my wow days are over because I do not think GC has the humility to make the right choice.

The general thing for me is that either the game becomes "dull" (runs out of things to do, the grind is too much or such) or the player base becomes idiots. The only game i ever left for another reason was WAR EU, because GOA was a blight on that game and ruined it for everyone. :(

GOA is gone from the EU equation if you weren't aware.
